i think what happened was tmac was talking loudly, but not in a confrontational manner, just saying things like "maaan i REALLY REALLY want to play", just expressing his frustrations, but knowing it's not going to change anything...just chit chat, then whoever the source was took it as basically an argument without hearing the whole conversation..

Did anyone expect Adelman or McGrady to be like:

"hellz yeah we argued. I was yelling and he was screaming and we hate each other!"

Of course not. Getting into an argument isn't something these guys are going to be quoted on admitting to. I will say this is the strongest I've heard Adleman be maybe ever. He is straight-shooting about the fact that McGrady wants to play but he (Adelman) says "you are not playing." Common sense tells you conversations like that are not pleasant ones.

Sounds like McGrady mentioned he spoke to Adelman about playing to someone and that person exaggerated the whole issue to a reporter. Seems to happen a lot, especially when big names are involved but has McGrady ever been shown to be the type that would start a battle with a coach when he knows he can't win.

Either way this makes McGrady look bad, so I doubt he would leak it was a full blown fight. Him saying he was going to play this week, I can believe but him getting into a fight over it. No way that came from McGrady's mouth.

He'd say some stupid things but McGrady isn't stupid enough to leak something like this when it does nothing to help him reach the court or be a desirable trade faster. That is more of an Allen Iverson thing.

I sure hope all this drama fuels our guys to play even harder. It's time to put all this we need Tracy stuff to rest.

“I knew I wasn't going to play,” McGrady said. “I saw my uniform. I was excited. I put it on, like a little kid. It felt refreshing to put it on because it was in sight.”

Haha he sounds like a little kid and the Rockets are the mean parents who won't let him do what he wants.

Asked if he was eager for Monday's practice and test, McGrady said, “You have no idea.”

this made me feel good about his return.

Tmac knows this is a contract year and he needs a lot on film to get his next contract. Adelman wants him no where near this team and the cohesiveness developed. Tmac is a ball stopper and we all know that. He will not move without the ball.

I actually think the Rockets may be a litte of afraid of Tmac and the team succeeding, which means signing him to another long term contract and watch Tmac digress once he's gotten paid.

I do see him as viable option to Shane. I would like to see Budinger and Shane come off the bench to replace Ariza and Tmac. The 2nd unit with Shane would give the 1st unit fits.

Didn't the Chronicle report that Tmac asked the trainer to get his uniform and Adelman was surprised he was in it?

I think its incredibly annoying for the organization to keep things like this under wraps. The fans support the team, pay their hard earned money to attend games, and invest emotionally, and then you have the organization hiding things. Just be up front and honest about the Tmac situation and Adelman and we'll all accept it and support you. Keeping secrets and hiding what's really going on behind closed doors is a slap in the face to fans.

This Chron article is a cover up for the Rockets.

I think the real story from this is what people on here have been saying for a long time. Yahoo! seems to be trying to get in the middle of all this and start stuff (legitimacy questioned) whereas the Chronicle seems to just be an extension of the Rockets at times. Which side is correct? I'm betting its somewhere in the middle. The national media loves drama, and Houston most sports reporters establish relationships and then aren't exactly newshounds (read: John McClain)

I'm sure something happened, Adelman's tone seems a bit different than what it usually is.

Why has T-Mac and his people been going to national media at all? They're the ones playing games, not Yahoo Sports.

that still works though...tmac just said he saw his uni, could have saw it after it was being washed or put away and that's where he got the itch to wear it, so he asked the trainer to get it ready for him. Adelman said he laughed when saw tmac in uni, could have been from being surprised in a good way, or amusing way, not necessarily a WTF-are-you-doing kind of way.. the mood of the article changes the way it's taken..

It seems like the Chronicle always publishes an article stating something negative and waits until the next day to post another article to correct or reword the article they posted the day before?
