White Chocolate's knees have melted. He would not be a good acquisition. I would much prefer a Shane Battier for Ricky Davis trade. Of course, we'd probably have to toss in a second rounder because Davis is a better shot, far more athletic and a much better in 1 on 1 defense. I will admit, freely and openly, that Davis doesn't provide as much glue as Shane.
J-Will has bad knees but he's managed to stay fit for the playoffs when it counts. He'd be a backup here so he'd last longer. Rockets would be giving up scrubs or guys playing like scrubs for him. The point is Rockets won't give up a key player to get him. Turning MJ & Snyder into an expiring contract could be as good as getting another first round draft pick. That's the bigger picture.
Any combo of Mike James, Steve Francis, Kirk Snyder or Steve Novak for JWill would be great. Not because he is even a decent player at this point in his career, but because those four probably wont get any serious minutes for this team this year or possibly the next couple. JWill can sit on the bench the whole year, actually in a trade I hope that happens. Unless Brooks, Head, Alston, or Wells gets hurt or horribly struggle, that is all either of those four I mentioned will be doing either. Dropping two guys, one of which has to be James allows us to dump his contract and also frees up a roster spot to resign Mike Harris. More importantly, JWill's expiring contract gets us under the tax line and actually might give us some money to spend in the offseason. I really dont see a blockbuster trade happening so this is our best chance to improve for the future.
what is with all the white chocolate hate? williams is basically rafer with a jumpshot. hes changed his game tremendously into a pass-first PG and he can hit the outside shot. i would defintely do francis/james for williams.
Why would the Heat trad J-Will for Mike James and scrubs when THEY could just let him go and dump his salary? You have to think they could get a better player than the Rockets could offer just by using their MLE in the offseason. Bottom line: Unless Pat Riley REALLY likes Mike James or Steve Francis, I don't see the Heat trading J-Will to the Rockets.
White Chocolate is a bargaining chip. Expiring salary on a team bogged down with a $20 million center that plays like he's worth the vet minimum. While they have to pay Shaq all that money, they need to win now. Interesting to see where this all goes, but I can only see us pursuing him in a three way trade, not to bring back here as another half-assed excuse for a point guard.
For what i read about the heat they want a spot up shooter and saying that i will say that the only way to get williams will be a package around head. I say James is on top of the "i want him out" list, so that will leave us with Williams for James+Head+filler (likely Novak or Landry). I think williams can actually help this team, and can be signed on the low next year, and also give us huge space for next year free agency, we can go after Hermann there.

With Alonzo Mourning suffering what figures to be a career-ending knee injury, the Heat might also try to expand the deal to include Stromile Swift. [READ]
Hell no. J.Will is a big hole on defense, which we already had one: Mr. luther head. Anybody and go though him, anybody in the league. who's the worst defensive PG in this league? him or mike bibby? enh? seems that they were from the same team and now one is still there?
