Just to keep it going, its more of a closing thing at the end of the game. 14 seconds left, down one, sideline out, who do people want with the ball? Whether you like him or not, brooks is the guy who will have the ball.
Oh yeah I agree with you... But I wanted to point something out about that.... AB doesn't get the calls like other players do when the game is on the line. I can't recall every game last year but there's only one time he was fouled and the refs called it. There were other times where he was hit and nothing was called. But he's still our best option as of right now.
Let's put it this way...the news of what the pricetag was...that was unfortunate. But Lowry was so valuable to this team that matching it is still a good move. Congrats on the payday Kyle, now keep earning it.
Yes, their production per minute remains similar. But mid-season Westbrook started scoring one on one and being very aggressive with the ball in his hands. And it's only Westbrook's second year. If Lowry was going show that I hope he would have done that by now, starter or not.
not aggressive? lowry is extremely aggressive. He's a bulldog out there. And maybe lowry couldnt show that mid way through the season because he was injured. true, it is westbrooks 2nd year, but again Lowry was putting up numbers the same as last year in his second year. The difference, of course, was the amount of minutes. I'm just saying that the statement "westbrook is blowing up and kyle hasnt" just isnt very fair because they are in different situations,
The refs never callas a foul late in the game like that. Thats why brooks should just pull up from 15ft. You never see guys get to the rack and finish or get a foul call late in the game. Look at kobe and his game winners and they were jumpers. Brooks just need to shoot them.
If he was going to be that guy, the grizz probably wouldn't have traded him or given the job to conley. In ok city, they had watson who has always been able to beat guys out or keep a job, but westbrook played more and got better and they traded watson.
So you are trying to say Memphis is a credibly run Org? LOL!! Have you been an NBA fan long because you would have realized that the Grizzlies are stupid in judging, drafting and signing players. Lowry is better than Conely right now and Morey fleeced them cold.
So, have the Rockets already matched or are they just announcing it now but will tie up the Cavs for 7 days just to show any team bidding on Scola that the Rockets will make things difficult for them?
Scola said this... I'm happy for you Kyle (@klow7)... You deserve anything ... Lowry replied with this... @LScola4 thanks man!!! You next! Not much other than that. He did have a tweet from 11 hours ago that just said, "Happy!!!"
I never thought that highly of conley and before you joined this board people were talking up lowry. That being said, the creme always rises to the top. KJ,stricklan, and nash were all traded and became starters when they left their respective teams. Lowry was traded and is still a backup. Cassel was traded also and became a starter. I like lowry alot, but maybe he is what he is which is a quality backup.
I thought this quote from Lowry's agent was interesting: "We preferred to have a negotiation in earnest, rather than the marketplace shaping Houston's value of Kyle." It's a business and this is actually the smart way to play the game with respect to restricted FAs, but I could see it rub players the wrong way too ...
Great news for Lowry... Now let's see what Scola's value is around the league... I have a feeling he's going to get a fat paycheck.
