This is true. Memphis, even with Miller, isn't a contender. The fact that he turned down OKC is a positive for us (though I'd have loved having him here).
Chandler Parsons is not a jumpshooting-only player. James Harden is not a jumpshooting-only player. Jeremy Lin can't shoot. We don't have a 3-point shooting stretch 4. This team is NOTHING like the Orlando Magic.
Thought this was a bad fit. By the time we are ready to be serious contender, the time and energy invested in Miller would be more or less wasted energy. We can do better.
Awesome news! Glad he's going back to where he once played, a lot of guys doing that this off season.
The Rockets are a contender. This year. Didn't work out with Miller, but Morey's goal isn't about "building"... it's about putting the best pieces around James and Dwight to make a run next May and June.
Lost another crucial free agent AND he couldn't even get a visit with him! The deal, sources said, will include a player option in Year 2. Houston was scheduled to meet with Miller on Friday before the 33-year-old decided Wednesday that he was ready to commit to Memphis.
Why would he go to Memphis, terrible decision on his part. Grizz aren't getting any younger and they already weren't true contenders last season.
