I don’t think there’s much to argue. Mbah a moute had three easy shots at the rim and blew them. He missed his three that was wide open. Gordon missed most of the game. Tucker missed. Nene missed at the rim. Ariza missed at jr rim. Tucker was a disaster driving. Plenty of chances and it was garbage. They aren’t talented enough with the ball to rely on them creating. This team works when they make 3s at a good clip.
Obviously the jury is still out where this offense ultimately gets us but for some strange reason this reminds me of the Run and Shoot debate......which we all know where that ended up....ok maybe not all of us but the older HST fans
The problem is it's not sustainable. Harden is expending too much energy this way. ISO against the Warriors works because Harden is a great offensive player, but we need more than that to beat them. Unfortunately, it's too late in the season to change that.
Stevens has Tatum, Brown, Kyrie, Smart, Kyrie, Rozier, Morris & most importantantly Al Horford. Would love to see him emulate that same offense with a bunch of role players & Capela initiating lol.
I'm not speaking of our role players creating . I'm reffering to our role players like Green and Gordon running off the ball trhiugh screen to get easy cuts to the basket or open three point looks or mid range attempts.
Again, it's the chicken or the egg dilemma. Can they only score well on iso because they have no other offensive sets that they practice? I mean how are you going to have role players score well when they just stand there?
Look I love motion offense but guys were missing open shots. When we can’t hit our threes everything falls apart. Puts them in transition and our defenders on skates.
No not this. His **** you in your face iso shots are more memorable .The Warriors get a signficant amount if their other shots from easy looks from off ball movement. Those shots aren't memorable so people forget them and think they only scored from KD difficult shots.
Harden doesn't have to do that, but the other players spotting up on the 3 point line do. It adds another dimension to our offense. But our players aren't good enough passers to do it and it's too late to add that to our offense.
So cp3 and Harden can't dribble? What does off ball screens and cuts to the bucket have to do with dribbling?
That's asking too much. I'm not expecting them to change their entire offense in 2 days. This discussion is mainly for next season.
Man this is pissing me off far more than the actual game did. We didn't lose this f**king game because of iso. People are like r****ded lemmings listening to the TNT analysts. You can't just recreate an entire system on the fly, and we don't need to. We need to find some way to slow them down. Iso is what we do and we are extremely effective at it.
No one is asking Dantoni to recreate an elite system off the fly. I'm stating that we are going to fail miserably alkowjng 4 GS defenders to essentially take a breather on defense every offensive possessions for the Rockets. It's a hopeless cause this season.
Rockets are moving to Nashville while their offense takes over the universe in 20 years? That's the worst news yet
If you expect to beat the Warriors by playing like the Warriors, but with far less talent, then all I can do is chuckle. The Rockets either shoot the lights out or they don't. That's their only chance. That's everybody's only chance during this Warriors dynasty. It's been obvious for a while now that this is the case, so I don't see why people are complaining about our isolation plays, which have been one of the most efficient plays in the NBA this season, and were once again our best chance tonight. But hey...Clutchfans gonna Clutchfan...
