NY is going to get at least one key FA this off season because it's NY. Will Bosh leave Tor and sign with NY or is he focus on working on a SnT? That's the real question. If he wants a SnT, NY doesn't have anything Toronto wants unless both parties agree on trade Lee for Bosh.

I rather keep Ariza. Ariza started to play very well once Martin was starting at SG. I think Ariza could really improve our team next year with Yao and Martin.

If he signs as an FA he goes to Miami or New York. If he does a sign and trade, I'd say here, but I don't know how much morey would give up. He always seems to do the least expected move

True, but the question still remains, who would you rather keep? Battier or Budinger?

I can see us keeping both and have Shane teach Chase the fundamentals of defense this off-season and move Shane at the deadline.

But I think Toronto would want Budinger if Bosh agreed to a S&T to Houston. Battier's contract expires after this season so I think he would be more valuable to a team at the deadline.

I would think Morey might want to keep Ariza due to his age and being that he would flourish as a 5th or 6th option ala Lakers.

Battier is declining, but his shot is still consistent beyond the arc and he is still a top 10 defender in the league.

Budinger is the ultimate what if. He can either continue to get better and become a Ray Allen type player with better defense or he could stay the same and not improve. Basically be a spot up shooter with marginal defensive skills.

Damn, I wouldn't want to be in Morey's shoes right now, LOL! Too many decisions to make this offseason that could make or break the franchise moving foward.

I can't see us landing a Bosh without Chase being involved. He has a great contract, he's young, and he has solid future. I think he can become an average defender but I don't see him being a Shane Battier type of defender. Will he be an allstar? No, but he will probably be a very solid starter.

I love Battier but I think he's time with the Rockets is pretty much done. I think we all saw this when they signed Ariza. Battier has value as a leader, three point shooter, and his defense but he's declining. I'm not sure Toronto needs a Battier on their team since they have Turk. For the Rockets to make a trade with Toronto, either Shane's or Jeffries's expiring contract must be included.

Your right, but I think Battier is exactly the type of guy a team like the Raptors need. Someone who is a exceptional defender and a vocal leader on and off the court. Hedo doesn't fit the bill on either. I can see him being someone who molds DeRozan and Weems like he did Budinger and Taylor.

Jeffries at this point doesn't serve as any purpose other than his expiring contract. That's why I didn't even mention him.

I would start negotations with something like this:

Jeffries + Hill + Budinger + non guaranteed contract of Alexander Johnson + New Yorks 2011 pick which could possibly a top 10 pick, and if they twisted our arm, our 14th pick.

I mean Shane would surely help DeRozan but Toronto would surely need to move Hedo and I don't see any team in their right mind taking that contract on. But you're right though, they could still take him and use his leadership skills to mold DeRozan.

I think we both can agree that the Rockets have two nice size expiring contracts in Jeffries and Battier. I hope that Morey can use both in deals that benefit us. Either for an Allstar or cap flexbility like Denver did with Camby. I can see two deals happening between Draft day and next year's trading deadline.

As to your offer, it's a nice start. I just wanted to correct you on one thing though. We don't own NY's pick for 2011. We have the right to flip picks in 2011 with Top pick being protected.

If we trade Hill, I hope that Morey plans to use our pick this year for a young big.

Oh, I guess your right about the 2011 pick. Didn't know that. Yeah, if we do move Hill, I can see us getting a young big like Udoh or Monroe, but that would be a pipedream.

Knowing Morey, I could see him doing something out of left field and suprise us by taking a shooting guard like Henry or move up to get Turner ;)

I don't know every big in the draft this year but I know it's a deep draft from what I was told. I like what I saw out of Cousins.

Well we can still give out 2011 pick away, we just don't know how low or high the pick will be based on what NY does.

Bosh holds all the cards. It depends completely on where he wants to go, so we can go ahead and eliminate Oklahoma City and Dallas.

I, too, think OKC has the highest possibility to get Bosh, assuming that they will go for him.

OKC will not get Bosh! No way Jose!

    1. OKC will have to gut their roster.

    2. Bosh does not want to be 2nd option behind Durant.

    3. Bosh doesn't want to play in small market.

you all are a bunch of babbling school girls when it comes to bosh, I love how some of you know he wouldn't go to dallas, he won't go to la, he won't go to new york, he won't go to okc.

yeah he wouldn't want to go to glamours la and play with kobe bryant, what player in their right mind would want to live in calinfornia and play with arguably the best player in the league.

I'm sure his hometown has no chane either, I mean why would he want to play in dallas with an owner like mark cuban who constantly goes into the luxury tax and is never afraid to add talent at whatever cost.

and new york yea right please, it's only the largest city in the us with potential to sign two max players and maybe team him up with a lebron or wade, meeehhh...

and oklahoma yea right, he knows durant and has already proven more in this season that bosh has his whole career, why would you go be second fiddle to and up and coming all nba'er. Or have the chance to be a hero/legend on a new franchise with young talent all around, bosh just wants to win right being the main guy like he has won his whole career being the main guy.

don't even get me started on south beach or teaming up with wade on the heat, ughh, I rather be in salt lake...

When is the last time a "max" player was signed and traded? McGrady to Orlando? Toronto should just call his bluff.

Why would OKC have to gut their roster. They have the cap space to sign to the max or near max contract. They only have 40 million in committed salaries next year.

Huh? I know he's not a true max player, but Rashard Lewis?

Bosh, judging from his interviews, wants two things.
    1. Win.
    2. Be #1. You disparage it, but he's said it in interviews. He believes that if a good team is built around him, they can win. That's important.

Houston's the only city where he has a chance of doing that. He will be second fiddle to Kobe, Durant, Dirk (and let's not get into that Dirk and Bosh are pretty similar players and Dallas badly needs a bang in the post center, which Bosh also needs to thrive and which we can sort of provide.), or if he goes to New York or Miami, either he is the number one on a junk team or the second dog to Lebron or Wade.
With Yao playing limited minutes, Bosh would be the top dog in Houston, and this team would be deep enough to contend with him. It's that simple.

Man I'd feel bad for Shane to be traded to a place that's not going to contend any time soon. At his age, if the Rockets had to trade him, trade him to place where he could contend for a championship.

Dude, Bosh does not want to be a second option on any team. And he sure as hell won't be the top dog with Durant running the show.

How many times does he have to make it clear. He said in countless interviews that he wants to be the number 1 option on any team and Oklahoma City is a small market. He wants to play in a bigger market, ala Houston, Chicago or Miami.

dude, wake up. LA and Dallas, Spurs or any other teams that has a legit PF is not going to acquire Bosh, unless they are thinking of trading Gasol/byrum, Dirk, Duncan...away.

Is Bosh going to wait for the whole lebron, wade...FA thing to fade out then decide what to do? it could take the whole summer, but for S&T we can wait until Feb deadline.
