Yeah ill keep the same energy. Every year we hear about this need salary and that to trade for a star. doesn't happen. Miss me with the cliche bs we need wood's contract! we need EG's contract! we need Theis contract! ZzZZZZZz. wake me up when the rockets actually make a move after a constant reminder year after year after year of a big salary filler for a star that needs to be on the roster. What the Tilman's owned rockets are known for is using assets to dump big salaries aka waste management. It's etched in their track record what bima says is accurate when you have a competent FO and a preferred destination to these "stars". It sure doesn't apply to the rockets
Release him immediately then appeal to have the contract voided. This is atrocious publicity for the organization
They can't. Apparently that's the part many are missing. They have to wait for the League to resolve its investigation.
We are not outbidding a bunch of teams with better assets anyway. I think it’s hilarious people think we will outbid teams like OKC if a legit star becomes available.
It's times like this you have to take a step back and appreciate just how hilariously dumb so many here are. They hear about the Rockets trying to do something smart and they throw a tantrum demanding something stupid. If you can get a thing of value while dumping a toxic asset, you do it. Full stop.
As a player, yes. As a contract, no. That's the point here. No team wants Porter the player. They might want the contract to shed salary. Don't look at the player. Look at it as 16 million plus picks for a player on a 2-3 year contract. Porter will not play 1 minute if he is traded. Look at him as salary filler for a Pick for Player trade.
Wrong Teams can waive whoever they like as long as they honor the player's contract. The Rockets are free to waive him at anytime. It's an NBA transaction teams are free to make whenever they want. It's all about paying him his $16 mil guaranteed money They don't need to wait for the league to waive him outright. The only reason the rockets would need to wait on the league to investigate is in regards to punishment. The league has jurisdiction with actual punishment. but that has nothing to do with the rockets option of just waiving him outright at any time and just moving on from him like they should. Ala Spurs got rid of Primo and moved on immediately
Why is giving up picks to dump this bum and acquire some mediocre at best player on a 2-3 year contract that another team can’t wait to get rid of a good thing?
this board always overestimates what we’d get back in a trade this the same place that was talking about EG and Capela for Anthony Davis or Westbrook for the 3rd pick in the draft…or Oladipo for Tyler Herro
Remember the C-Wood for 3 1st round picks talk? What did Stone end up getting for him again? in this case, we are actually attaching several picks when we could just eventually waive this scrub
KPJ’s agent canvased the league last offseason, and his value was so garbage that a 22 y/o had to accept a 4 year deal with 3 years non-guaranteed nobody wanted that bum back then, and now he’s added domestic violence to his resume…and the Rockets are somehow gonna extract “value” in a trade while giving up several picks
What smart thing are they doing? The best case scenario is they trade for a minimally productive player on a longer term contract than KPJ.
TyTy Washington who they dumped for nothing lol. Boban Marjanovic, Sterling Brown, Trey Burke, Marquese Chriss Hey atleast we still have Boban! keep bouncing it! keep bouncing it! keep bouncing it!
"The league has launched an investigation, and they will handle it in the near term. The Rockets, by the by-laws, can’t suspend or waive him while this investigation is going on. But Adam Silver could put Porter on administrative leave." https://www.si.com/nba/rockets/news...-jr-arrested-domestic-violence-charges-future CF emos, certified dumbasses.
