Definitely second this. Coming in sandals isn't such a bad thing, at least it's much better than wearing 2.5 inch shoes. Maybe he doesn't believe in the practice of misleading people by weaing thick soled shoes. Opting out of the bball portion of his workout was definitely a positional strategy. Considering his performance against Armstrong, I guess his agent didn't want him getting pwned again, this time maybe against a peer. To me that's not really a bad thing, Whiteside is stille xtremely raw. I think his interview answers are really good. Wanting to play behind a vets tells me that he understands he's not good enough for the next level yet. It's better than declaring he's ready to take the NBA by storm (which is what Beasley did).
7 Footers like that fail in the NBA when they fall in the wrong Lap .. He's extremely raw but the sky is the limit for him any player we pick will be as twice as good a year from now
I approve after watching a few YouTube clips. To me I would describe him as Carl Landry in Jordan Hill's body. I am glad to see that the Rockets had him work out with Dream. I only wish our big men would work out with him on a regular basis other than a week long workout and done.
He will only be 21 at the start of the season. Hopefully he gains about 5 pounds of muscle before the season starts.
WARNING!! DO NOT BECOME ATTACHED!! I would be more than content if we picked this kid up at 14, but i would'nt be suprised if he's gone before we get to him... thats all.
Small forwards can afford to be lanky, as speed is more important than strength and bulk. Centers need strength and bulk, just as much as speed.
noah - 6'11, 232 camby - 6'11, 235 whiteside 7'0, 235 were these guys shorter? yes, by a whopping inch! bulkier? not at all. dalembert was heavier than i expected i'll give you that.
Draft measurements have him at 6'11.5" with flip flops. Put him in basketball shoes and he is about 7ft. He measured about 227 lbs not 235 lbs. 227 lbs 7'0 ft is a Shawn Bradley stick.
again, you said those guys are shorter and bulkier. i don't see a point arguing over half an inch and 8lbs.
