I don't know if the Rockets are looking at Kemp or not, but sometimes people talk more after an article like that (http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=99497) ... and it does say Kemp lives in Houston. If he has anything left, I'm sure he'd want to give the team closest to his home a crack at it.
I'd give Kemp a tryout. If he's any good, then pay him vet minimum. From the article posted, it looks like he's turned his life around.
Man, if Kemp is even 80% of the player he was in Seattle, then he's still a BEAST!! He might be able to rip some boards and play man up defense against Shaq and others!!! With The Body gone, there's already a spot available on the bench. Hell, I'd buy out Moochie's contract just to see if Kemp is serious about this come back... As a former counselor of addicts and alcoholics, (LCDC for nearly 10 years) - there's no reason to believe that he can't stay sober if he's truly self-motivated. It's impossible for alcoholics to "stay sober" for anyone but themselves. 12-step dogma says: This is a program for people who want it, not for people who need it!" In other words, everybody deserves a second chance, and aside from his condomless sex life, and a very pedestrian bout with alcohol and weed, (nothing too sexy BTW in a world where Grand Theft - San Andreas is the #1 game on the market... ), Dude deserves a chance to show if he's got game left. Hell, invite him to training camp, hire John Lucas as an off the books consultant to help him stay clean, and he could be one of the best role players in the league this year!!
I don't think it was shopped. I don't think that that is Yao either though. Looks a little like Yao, but I don't think that that is him.
