If the guy has cleaned himself of drugs and is in good to great shape the Rockets would be stupid not to look into getting him,

Man, he sure looks fertile in that picture!

This is a fun thread. More so than even the "should we coax Karl Malone to come out of retirement to play for the Rockets?" threads. Actually, the rumor sounds credible to me. What we need is a Doc Rocket verification for this thing to hit 30 pages.

Kemp has had it rough, well not economically but cocaine abuse can be rough. Though he if ciurse deserves public ridicule he also deserves a chance. He used to be a great player and if he is serious about coming back and contributing I wouldn't mind if the rockets offered him something with lots of tem options in it. What worries me though, besides the drug abuse and moral decay, is that his game used to be a predominantly physical one. I think it's harder to come back to that sort of game than to a more technically oriented game. Especially come back from drug abuse and gross overweight.

I know NBAHOU713. I've known him for nearly ten years. I can attest to the fact that he does know people within the Rockets organization and also knows other people with NBA ties. He's a solid guy and if he posts something like this, then at the very least, you can trust he has heard it from sources he considers reliable. That being said, stuff falls through all the time. In this particular case, he's just saying the Rockets are looking at Kemp. Looking at a player and having legitimate interest in them can be very different things. We'll see how it pans out.

I'd be kinda upset if the rockets are only looking at him cause he's from houston. Come on, if that's the case . . . there are waaaay more old, fat guys in this city. If we need an old fat guy, SK is waaaay down on my list.

If Kemp is serious about coming back, he goes to the NBDL dominates there and waits for a call. If he is not serious he runs around the block a few times, plays a few pickup games and has his agent try to sell teams with his old press clippings.

I hope Kemp emerges from retirement and joins Houston.
