i say why not take a chance on him? we aren't really losing anything with stro and juwan having the 4 spots on lock and he would be a great 3rd option for the PF/C. I also have read that article about him being a changed man and wanting to come back, and he said he is in his best shape in a while and hasn't been able to jump like this since his days with the sonics.

if all is true to what he has been saying, we should sign him in a heartbeat! remember how ferocious and emotional with his play back in the day.....he was scary. now i only hope that these are good sources and we are really looking into him.

Think GP would play for cheap if we had his old buddy on the squad?

Sean isnt doing it for the money, he's doing it for pride. He didnt like the way his career ended the first time and he wants prove that he can still play. If you read the other thread in the NBA dish, he's not pressed for cash.

Well, Kemp is on the right side of 30 as far as JVG is concerned...

Yao's actually the one behind this. We are signing him to a non-guaranteed contract, and we are getting him in for one practice against Yao, who has "forgotten" to clip his fingernails for several weeks. JVG calls for Kemp to go on the skins squad, while Yao will guard him on the shirts team. JVG directs Kemp to go to a post move. When this happens, Yao scrapes his fingernails across Kemp's back as hard as he can but lets him score. JVG pretends to be angry with Yao for his defense, so he yells for everyone to repeat the play. Yao again scrapes Kemp's already bloody back as hard as possible. Repeat until Kemp finally catches on and quits. JVG and Yao nod to each other in satisfaction as Kemp storms off the floor, bloodied and bruised.

GP will play for cheap if he plays -- anywhere.

BTW - why is 'looking at' SK a big deal? If the Rox refused to 'look' would they not be 'irresponsible'?

bring him in as training camp fodder, in the off chance he does get into shape and commits himself to basketball he has shown the ability to excel in the league. I'm not expecting him to do anything but be training camp fodder and maybe a 10 day contract if an injury occurs. i believe that will be the Kemp route to the NBA..

10 day contract is all i'd give him to prove himself.

I am totally opposed to the Rockets looking like an "OldTimers" game. Remember Oakley, Strickland, Baker, Weatherspoon, et al. I just hope JVG isn't even considering this. Kemp was scary at times in his prime which has loooooooong since past. Don't even think about it.

No doubt Kemp was a beast, but look at his numbers during his prime, does it look familar? Yao's last two year's number resembles that. It took Kemp 4 years to reach his prime. Looks like Yao progressed better in the early stage of their careers. If Kemp was such a beast in late of his career, Yao might just be better. Ok, this is just number talk. But why not, if we compare Yao with the likes Rik Smits, Big Z, Ralph Sampson, or Bradley( )
