Bill Ingram - 02/24/2011 11:50AM EST- The Jonny Flynn to Houston talk is all about character. Flynn is an upbeat, motivated player, and has been great for morale in Minnesota. Brooks, meanwhile, has been a problem since being benched. Brooks could be Minnesota's starter and Flynn would be perfectly happy backing up Lowry. I'm glad that Flynn has that attitude, and wouldn't mind playing off the bench, but still...this is a very underwhelming move.
Brooks for Flynn + pick(s)? Why not, sign me up. Brooks' needs to be moved while he can. I just hope Anthony Randolph is not part of the deal.
I know that Aaron Brooks has been terrible this year.. but I also know that Aaron Brooks isn't a terrible player. He's having a bad year.. and I don't want to sell him at his lowest value for Johnny Bust Flynn. Flynn can't even beat out Luke Ridnour for the starting gig. He's just a less efficient Aaron Brooks. It drives me nuts because I feel like people are trying to rationalize it just because they feel if Morey is interested, Flynn might have more potential than they think. Johnny Flynn is not good. You're right about one thing -- it would be a $Ball move trading for a cheaper asset on a longer contract. And if it happens as proposed (straight swap), $Ball and Morey should be ran out of town. That said, I have more faith in Daryl than to be that dumb.
Are you r****ded? And who is the WE, you speak of? Was there anything related in my post about ME specifically commenting on Morey and the deal? Or is it the usual, that people tend to respond without actually READING what was posted? I said Morey was getting hammered, you know, by the MEDIA, hence the "not looking good" part.
trading our starting PG who was last season's most improved player for a 5'11" backup to Kyle Lowry doesn't sound like a great idea to me.
Brooks is playing like crap. If he ever starts playing better again it probably won't be until next year when we still won't be competing. Flynn has comparable numbers to Brooks, is bigger (maybe only an inch or two taller but about 40 pounds heavier), more athletic....oh yeah and is 4 years younger. Oh yeah Brooks also isn't happy with the team and his use....people are delusional if they think Flynn is somehow a clear downgrade. Brooks had barely sniffed an NBA court at the age Flynn is now and you could easily argue he is already just about as productive. ****ing dumb, sentimental people.
Using the DLeague for injury recovery... It is no secret that they have been trying to bring Vets over to entice Rubio, Jeffries makes sense too.
Who said I was talking about YOU? lol calm yourself, this is a message board. And stop rolling your eyes like a chick..."not looking good".
Not sure what they see in him, but obviously they like something. Don't see the point in grabbing a guy like that when we already have Smith and Williams going crazy for PT. In Morey I Trust? I'll withhold judgement until all the dust settles this afternoon. I definitely want to see a major makeover.
