So, Morey is the problem. We need to fire Morey and hire someone other teams think is stupid in order to make a trade. Brilliant!!!

1.If you don't check what your customer base is thinking before you make moves you're stupid? okay..

    2. We have overvalued our talent. I was guessing at what might be another factor in why team with holes at certain positions aren't even offering fair value. Flynn is not better than Brooks career wise, Thabeet sucks, Asik is not as proven as Lee.

And what is the best way to read fan opinion? A forum with thousands of fans. What other way will you get fan opinion efficiently and cheaply? Surveys? (with even a smaller sample?)

We didn't drastically overvalue it, just couple it with these players demanding WHERE they want to go. New Jersey's offer is top tier, and still couldn't get Melo. A lesser portion got Deron, but even if our offer was slightly better or comparable, Utah would've still sent him to NJ.

Just like LeBron, Amar'e, Melo, Deron, and eventually Chris & Dwight. These guys pick where to go.

That combination of superstars picking where to go + our assets not developing is leading to this. It's a shame.

Just to set the record straight:

Flynn is basically the same size as Brooks ...undersized
Flynn is not a pass-first PG; AB is actually a better passing PG
Flynn is very similar to Brooks in that they are both amazingly fast with the ball
Flynn is a poor shooter; AB is not
Flynn gets to the rim; AB is a better finisher
Flynn has a good attitude; AB has not had the best attitude THIS YEAR
Flynn is younger, but AB is still plenty young

I agree that Flynn has potential and that AB is having a down year, but the truth is, Flynn is not a better player than AB and it is an open question whether or not he ever will be.

Flynn for Brooks or Jefferies for Flynn

    Battier for Thabeet

    Lee for Asik....

If these three deals happen it is a good job by Morey. We will lose Brooks and Battier for nothing this off season anyway. Asik is a good prospect.... plus it opens up minutes for Williams and we also will lose more games... and get a better draft pick.

I promise you that Daryl Morey will not be surveying the public or fan forums today in consideration of the various trade offers that come his way. I promise you with sugar on top.

I actually think this may be a possibility, look at Minny everyone tries to rape them yet they make all the moves the rockets should be making. Even in anthony randolph fits no purpose there at the time, watch him rediscover his game in limited time just like beasley did a couple of months ago. I hate to say it but due to managements ineptitude, the T-wolves are fun to watch.

Of course that would mean shipping Brooks out for the best deal available.

No, we've overvalued them. We're debating Brooks for Flynn and Battier for Thabeet right now. Two of our starters for two guys who are on the bench for bad teams.

Flynn has over 20 lbs on Brooks and he is slightly taller...
Flynn is just as good a passer as Brooks, with better vision
Brooks is very quick, quicker than Flynn, but Flynn is more explosive, a better overall athlete.

Flynn is a poor shooter, Brooks is a good outside shooter.

Brooks does not want to be a Rocket, he will not be back next year... So should go ahead and take a shot at Flynn.

You really think we can get Gerald? Or did you mean Ben, or possibly calling Sheed out of retirement? :p

Flynn had the worst defensive plus/minus on the 3rd worst defensive team in the league last season.

Another 6' PG. Another lateral "asset" move. Another "Courtney Lee costs less than Trevor Ariza" move.

The Rockets are either jealous of the Baron Davis for Mo Williams deal. Or, trying to laydown the law in a micro-mino version of DWill to NJ.

If there's not a "big" involved, why bother.

Didn't say fire him, just making a guess as to why teams won't give us the time of day despite the holes they have on their roster that we can fill.

And for the record I want to keep Morey here.

We a mediocre team, not a terrible one. Teams trade with terrible teams for talent, why not us?

Winning and trading for talent on a bad team are two different things imo. If a crappy team has a player who can fill a need for you, you make an offer to get it done if the terms are even.

Brooks is not an unrestricted free agent btw.

Also, to help bolster your case, Flynn is probably a better defender. But please don't mention the height thing. it's a wash.
