Enough with the fantasy that Morey is so good GM's no longer want to deal with him. That's ludicrous. ...and reading another team's forums to get an idea of what their GM is thinking is pretty dumb as well.
keeping Brooks and Flynn? look, if the idea is that the replacement for Brooks should be Flynn, I'm against it. not because i think Brooks is so great...but because i'm tired of watching undersized guards in Rocket Red getting torched.
Do you see any major deals so far? The cupboard is not bare and we do have talent to trade, and other teams do have holes where we have talent, why don't other teams want to deal with us? Didn't say he was a wizard, but there is a fear he may have info others don't. Read other forums, fans influence front offices. If fans revolt because they feel they got ripped off in a trade making their teams bad, and don't buy tickets GMs don't have jobs. Guys get fired sometimes because of bad trades that make their teams worse, It's something real that happens

1. If GMs are checking fan forums before making moves, they should be fired immediately. You've been around Clutchfans, one of the better fan forums, long enough to know that. I was there the night everyone booed Rockets managment for taking Robert Horry over Harold Miner. 2. I think we have DRASTICALLY overvalued our talent. I don't think it's nearly as attractive as we or Morey would like to believe.
Don't think Morey is "so good", But we do look desperate out there. And fan pressure is a factor. If we all decide we want Thabeet or none of us are buying tickets, he has to get him or he has no job. Fan influence (and ticket sales) has power, and you're dumb if you think otherwise.
If you're a GM you build a team to win. If you win, they'll show up...no matter how much they b**** about a trade they didn't like. I can assure you, Morey isn't wasting time checking Clutchfans this morning to see what MadMax thinks.
Sorry, but Brooks does not create his own shot, he is a shooter and he does not finish well... Also, Flynn is more of a combo guard than Brooks, he is bigger and stronger than Brooks. If you want to keep Brooks because he is a better shooter and has less health concerns, then fine.... But Brooks and Flynn are very different.
(no edit function)....and beyond that, a fan forum is a tiny sample size of a market a franchise sells tickets to. mostly comprised of hard core fans like my sorry ass who endure 2 playoff series victories in 13 years but still buy tix and tear up everytime they show that damn Rockets history pre-game Dream On video.
