We might still make the playoffs, but no longer a WCF team. The intensity is just not there. I feel sorry for Tucker. Dude is the only fighter left on our team. You can see his frustration being surrounded by a bunch of teammates with no heart and take everything for granted. I'm not a Luc or Ariza fan but I love watching these two working with Tucker to bully the opponent.
Honestly .. . IF the Rockets go 20-22 the First Half of the season and End the Second Half 35-7 . . .. I would be good with that The team needs time to Gel and Also needs all their players on the court Rocket River I like that DANtoni is playing the young guys
No great rebounder. No great shooter. No great defender. No great rim protector. This team is gonna very bad.
Make a 3? That Jumper looked for fricking Horrible I was wondering what he was shooting at Rocket River
True, I wasn't really aware of the stats, and that's mainly cuz I don't look at the stats much until 10-20 games in so that there is a decent sample size.
A lack of understanding of offensive/defensive sets can appear as lack of heart at first. Ten games or so in and we'll probably have a better idea of this team's ceiling, imo.
The team needs everyone healthy and on the court to gel for their rotations. Perhaps the new players will never gel. They might need some time to work this out. BUT, the problem is they could lose ground to the #1 seed. And that was a HUGE factor for them. Can they afford to lose ground in the playoff seedings to "get their sea legs?" I predicted 59 wins. But this team right now has the look of ~54 wins-ish? We'll see.
the problem with using advanced stats like this, is it isn't actually what's happening in reality. its just assumed. he isn't on the floor nearly enough bc hes fat too foul prone. and if the attempt go up to ariza level, its not likely the % remains as high. ennis has been ok however though but he seems to be a guy best used in limited minutes, instead of starter that requires extended
I have an insane amount of respect for CP3 and think he will get Melo looking like he’s 5 years younger by mid season. We will see though.
this team will as it is currently constructed will never be a threat to GS, we need to get some # and D wing defenders, get ride of MCW and melo, and we are good to go, can not believe we are this bad defensively
I’m not really pinning hope on him I just think he’s gonna be a decent scoring option for us when he’s healthy. He’s always been a good three shooter. Better then what MCW can bring scoring wise. Melo almost seems hesitant to really go full ball hog mode, which I’m fine with but he really does look like he’s trying to play in the system. I think he will start to get comfortable and start scoring in the 12-18 range on average Also feel like Ennis will take some strides aswell.
Yup, but the Rox could end up with another team fighting for a seed. You know that Portland and Denver are pretty good in regular season but not as good in the Playoffs. GSW is there, Pelicans seems to be on a good road. This version of the Jazz is solid too.
Sounds about right. But let's also acknowledge the competition around us. The Pelicans, Jazz, and in some ways OKC have gotten somewhat better with most of the same squad coming back from last year but adding key pieces to boost their lineup. We've taken steps BACKWARD by losing two smart and savvy veteran players by adding incompetent pieces like MCW and a used up Melo. We can win games based on the talents of Harden, CP3, Gordon, Capela and Tucker but how far can they carry us? We don't have the depth we had last year. Our defense is gone. I dunno how far we can go this year even if we make it to the playoffs.
I'm not ready to panic its only been two games it'll take time for the new guys to gel but if things dont start to get better by mid season I'd pull the trigger for Butler
