Less homerish? More objective? What's wrong with that:confused:

I think Houston won't be blown out as much, maybe take 2-3, like how it's clear lakers was gonna win in 2009. Even if the games get close, in end game situations, one team consistently executes, and perennially poised, the other? not so much. 50-50?

You mean he has the skills, which has been on display even during college.

But did he make Howard better? Did he let others feel like better than they are? Or did he make others feel they have to compete with harden to get theirs? Even worse, others probably felt they had to sacrifice just for the glory of the star. Check touches, defense. Check player quotes.

I think that is more along the lines of Yao's comments.

Yao really drew on his many post-season series wins to inform his commentary there.

Fact is we were 4-0 against the Spurs in the regular season. Also beat them in the one pre-season game.
Who knows how that would have translated into the playoffs? But it's hard to declare 'we would have lost' (we probably would have, based on what we saw in the Portland series, but in the theoretical world where we beat them, one might theoretically assume us to be favourites vs the Spurs based on that 4-0)

I think the impact of Beverley being sick is underestimated. If we'd have beat Portland and he got back to normal health, we might have started playing a lot better. At any rate, his illness alone could have made the difference in the Portland series.

I think Yao meant Harden has to give up shots in Crunch time. Iso is good for one or two plays but not during half of the 4th quarter and Overtime.

Harden is doing fine during the first third quarters. But at the end is what matters most. And great regular season wins does not equal great playoff crunch time games.

This is not only on Harden but the whole coaching crew to figure things out.
Stagnant offense with little defense won't get us anywhere

There's not even a link to this. I've asked for it twice already. OP ought to provide links. Is this a "translation" pulled from reddit? Everyone's reading into all this crap when it's the words of some anonymous translator (?), not Yao.

Don't you remember the reddit report of a supposedly overheard conversation between Aaron Brooks and McHale on the bench during a game, posted by a GSW fan who wanted Lin on GSW. It was some BS. Let's have some standards around here.

I'm really interested to see where "facilitator" came from in the Chinese, for example.

You're gonna count a preseason win? We know that the Spurs don't really give a damn about the regular season. I'm am at least 51 percent sure they care less about the preseason.

People here giving their opinions and most think the Spurs would have beaten us. And I think a lot of it has to do with McHale's less-than-stellar coaching job in the post season.

Because even though they're Rocket fans they're not homers and can see the situation objectively.

And the Nets were 4-0 against the Heat.

Everyone, read between the lines and look beyond just words...

Hakeem is still on Rox's payroll or at least he was training Howard. That puts him at a biased situation. Honestly you think we couldn't beat Blazers but somehow we could beat Spurs? Seriously? We are know Spurs are a different team in the playoffs. The regular reason games meant nothing. Also, you think by beating Blazers, Harden would suddenly walk out of his slump and beat the spurs with his offense?

Yao is shy away from making direct comments, we all know that from his years with Rox. i am sure if Houston is for sale, Yao would be interested in as well, so his interest in Clippers has nothing to do with this. He was also interested to buy the bucks only after the owner refused to let any new owners relocate when Yao stopped his pursue.

Yao's comment basically said Mchail sucks, and no one on Rox roster can get the team moving -> lack floor leader. That leader who would tell his teammates to stfu and go out and win the damn game. The leader that would tell Parson to STFU and Harden to get the **** out and play defense.

Bev does a pretty good job in defense and bringing the ball up to pass to Harden or Dwight. But if running the offense means making his teammates better by assists as a pg does, he is far from good tbh. Don't know of any starting pg in NBA with that low in assists consistently with 30+ minutes per game.

The difference between Yao and Dream right now is Dream is working for the Rockets, and Yao is not...

Thanks for bumping this, the people taking shots at Yao or saying Hakeem is a champ and therefore knows more about the game should reconsider their stance. Everyone saw that this Spurs team is one of the best in recent NBA history, they would've dismantled our Rockets.

Hakeem is a legend, yes. But this doesn't mean he knows more about basketball than other people. Maybe on the mental aspects of the game, but not the whole picture.

Yao was only being real and saying what everyone that followed the NBA this season could see.

The rockets have absolutely no chance as long as Greg pop is here. Hell, as long as the clippers, Okc and Portland is in the west, rockets have no chance whatsoever. Dwight Howard, harden, nothing compared with those teams, with San Antonio leaps and bounds better than the second best in the west.
