Dude if we keep him or not we will not sign anyone in 2010,we will only have 8 millions, if we trade T-mac we can get some good players and make run possible for the 8th seed, in 2010 summer we will sign Yao and we will not have chance of signing any of those big names, why can't just anyone understand that.
Keep McGrady and Cook. Trade Battier for an expiring. Start Chase and let Taylor play behind him. We'd only have 30 million on the books going into the summer. Enough to sign one max or near max player and resign one of Lowry or Scola.
We may not be in the playoff race this year, but we sure hold the key to two teams' 2010 free agency future. Maybe RA, Les, and TMac can swallow their pride and compromise so that TMac can play out the last two months of this season. It's not like we're going anywhere with our current line-up. But TMac will have to play the good teammate and not make so many demands. Teams out there don't really want him that bad.
I'm not much interested in helping one of those two teams get two max free agents. If the Bulls pull it off they could have Bosh + Wade + Tmac + Rose. If the Knicks pull it off they could have Lebron + Stoudemire + Tmac + Lee. In either of those cases do you really want their future draft picks from there?
Also, if Tracy's not being traded then just play him. If he gets hurt then it only validates why we're getting rid of him. If he plays well then at least we can give Rockets fans one last good show...then he can have another first round exit as usual.

Again, I'd like someone to explain to me how helping Chicago get Wade and Bosh to go along with Rose and Deng while taking their relative trash + an expiring Thomas helps us more than them. I mean, it only makes sense to make your competition better if you can somehow make yourself better than them in the meanwhile.
