A package centered around Lowry could make sense. I'd hate to see him go though. Lowry, Pat Pat, Lee and the Knicks' pick? Could add in any of the 09ers they may want. Then we absorb any excess salary from Pau into our cap space, possibly amnestying Thabeet if he's not included. This would provide the youth, value contracts and a solid pick that the league is desiring.
The only time Lowry should be traded is if it's for an upgrade at PG or a superstar. I wouldn't trade him otherwise, he's the only young player on our team who is actually showing significant improvement into all-star territory.
Nene wouldn't have signed with the nets if morey knew the trade was back on and if the rockets were involved. 95% chance rockets aren't gonna be involved in this deal again. They closed trade talks asking for Martin lowry scola, patterson, lee and this knicks 2012 pick. Why in the ***** would we go back to that trade? unless stern gets his head out of his ass its not gonna happen.
No point in getting Gasol now. Stern screwed up Murray's 1 month off work & planning. We lost both Nene and Hayes cause of it...
ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein Obviously a must, post-Nene, for Nets to win DH12 Sweepstakes. But I've always liked their chances of crafting right deal better than Lakers ESPNSteinLine Marc Stein Became very real tonight that Lakers could focus on CP3 over Dwight and aim for CP3/Kobe/Bynum core thru Pau-centric offer to NBA's Hornets
Lakers Trade: Gasol, Blake, and Barnes to Houston + 1st Round pick to NO Rockets Trade: Martin, Thabeet, Flynn, Hill, Williams, and a 1st round pick to NO Hornets Trade: Paul and Okafor to LAL
I still think we can get Pau... OK, now the Lakers are now DESPERATE for a PF... They gave Odom to Dallas away for nothing. His apparent replacement Derrick Caracter just busted up his knee in practice. A little tweaking to the deal, Lakers need Scola, NO gets Martin + "young talent" All of a sudden "talks are back on with Paul to the Lakers". I bet this gets done...
I seriously doubt that will happen, and this thread may get locked, but I was just thinking that Scola would be a good fit with the Lakers. He'd be traded to a contending team, as well, something he deserves if we do move him, in my opinion. You have to give to get. The Lakers would be getting Chris Paul.
According to ESPN Lakers looking for 3rd team for young talent. No mention of the Rockets again. Pretty much means we are out of it.
They are "desperate" for big man help so they are going to downgrade at PF while leaving their center spot unfilled?
