Lakers had been searching for deal in past day to obtain a first-round pick to send New Orleans as part of Chris Paul package, sources say.

    How?

Now LA will be even more desperate to get CP3.

I like the Lakers getting short.
I like the Rockets getting tall. If Kevin McHale is your coach get him some F/C's.
I don't like watching Kevin Martin shoot goofy jumpers or 15 foul shots, it's ugly and boring.
    Love me some Scola though.

The Rockets are trying to clear more cap space in CP3 trade to match NJ offer to Nene...

Morey is going all in. He wants his twin towers (Nene + P. Gasol), so sending more players to New Orleans to make 3 team deal work...#Crazy

Do you really think he is worth what we are talking about offering him? Keep in mind that if he flops, he is almost untradeable if we pay him that much. I see nothing in him to make me take that risk.

LA might not gut thier front court if they no its impossible to get Dwight.

Nene might now accept the NJ deal if Dwight/Deron are there, thus HOU might back out.

    Daaaaaamn.

I bet when the trade was cancelled and Morey was ranting and raving and about to quit, he got word that he could still get a deal back on and said...**** it, I was about to retire, I'm gonna get what I want no matter who I have to send away.

Orlando doesn't have to trade him to Brooklyn/NJ though. Can trade to LA because LA will take risk on Dwight. Won't leave if traded there.

If we are giving up than the original trade proposal then "obviously" Morey is trying to clear more cap space to sign more than Nene..

I will wait judgment until the whole damn thing is done.

Everyone needs to chill out. All the assets that we've collected have been Morey's decisions (including Pat and Lee. Everyone is saying Pat is untouchable but when we took him with the 14th pick, everyone thought he was a scrub). He's been piling them up and now he's making a move with it. Lets just sit back and see what happens. Obviously, if it doesn't work out, Morey is gone. But if it does work out, this season and the next few seasons will be pretty darn exciting.

Add a second superstar? How? We don`t have the assets or the capspace.

And I don`t know about big men aging better. When Shaq one his last ring he was a shadow of himself - that was all on D-Wade. Or take a look at Tim Duncan - nowhere near the player he once was, and he was 34 last year. Or Garnett?

Mutombo played longer as a one trick pony - but we would need Gasol at a superstar level. Now how many bigs continued to play at a superstar level at their mid 30s? How many years have they been pro? You won`t find too many.

True, a lot of bigs can still be serviceable at their mid 30s. But they won`t be the superstar they used to be. And we need Gasol to play at his high level for at least 3 more years - and we will probably be disappointed...

    Na might be might not
That would be what a small market would do LA on the other hand....
