I know he is better than Scola, and better than Martin, but I think we are giving up FAR too much for just one guy who is NOT Hakeem or Michael Jordan in quality.

He is a 2nd tier star, an all star, not a superstar.....he is like Rudy Gay.....not a guy that will lead a team anywhere...

I see. Yes. I would probably see Nene as more of a PF. But truthfully, in today's NBA atmosphere, it doesn't freaking matter. Who other than Dwight Howard will punish either Gasol or Nene at center?

Clearly, Kmart is done with Houston. Trade or Not, he must go and I don't blame him.

asked this earlier, but i dont think anyone chimed in:

If odom wants out of the hornets and we can't get Nene, should we go after odom? He may come cheap, talent-wise, if he's pouting. Maybe we can still get him with Nene signed on?

New Orleans comes to town Jan. 19th. We will have already 15 games under our belt by then.

Ouch, Martin sounds hurt! Real BAD! Sorry buddy, I really enjoyed watching you ball last season. I only wished that we would have kept you just so we can see the beautiful inside-outside game with you and Gasol. Sigh, well..... We'll see how it plays out. Hornets seems scary with those starters. Scola/Odom/Martin/(Possibly Bynum).

I think the stats, offensively, are pretty spot-on about Gasol; he's only a moderate upgrade over Luis on offense and rebounding. However, he is a much more potent defensive presence, averaging almost two blocks a game, amongst other harder-to-measure parts of his defensive game. That two-way aspect to his play, combined with the moderate improvement in offense, is what elevates him from the borderline-stardom of Scola to a true star player.

Scola, Dragic, and the 1st round pick are for the Gasol upgrade. The inclusion of Kmart is salary dump, which you of all people should be happy with.

Unlike you, I'm willing to take finals loss with that non-center playing center.

So you are essentially suggesting that a package of Martin/Scola should net the Rockets no less than a Hakeem/Jordan tier talent?

Name 1 player better than Gasol, who we could get for Scola/martin.

Dirk Nowitzki. But that's about it, I think.

How is it too much? We're looking at the potential of having two legit MOBILE 7-footers anchoring our defense and still keeping our youth. I admit that Pau is not enough to win but if paired with Nene,we have a chance to win maybe not now but in the future.

I'm tired of watching us win moral victories.
