I don't understand it either. People get too attached with our loveable role players. This team was/is the same team its been the last couple of seasons which has been a fringe lottery/playoff team. This deal offered change and the acquisition of a guy that is better than Martin and Scola. Now people are elated we are fielding the same exact squad, the one that has been unable to make the playoffs. If the Gasol trade failed and we never signed a Nene, we would be much worse with the chance at drafting a game changer instead of a role player at 14 and 15.

 

If Chandler leaves Dallas, Gasol/Nene could be the best 4/5 in the West. I know Nene is a big assumption but the other side sure is quick to assume Orlando would give the Lakers Dwight for Bynum, so what the hell.

Wow, this is complete nonsense. The League owning a team should just be a formality. Blocking a trade because of who the recipient is, is worse than any conspiracy theory.

 

No one cares what Pau thinks.

 

Even if Gasol is good, it's hard for some fans (myself included) to cheer for a player you don't like, and is lacking in the heart/effort department.

The Rockets might well have been a better team depending on what other deals were being made, but I would never have felt comfortable trying to route for Pau Gasol. The guy is a human arm pit.

I remember trying to find something positive to cheer for back when the Rockets had Scottie Pippen. That didn't work out too well either.

Scola=Gasol. Gasol just had Bynum covering for him.

 

Paul is pissed from what i heard. It will go through. It has too. The league cannot just say no to a deal like that. Too many parties upset. The fans especially. It really does screw the rockets too. As a rockets fan... losing out on Pau Gasol and now NENE cause we don't have cap space ... and Potentialy HAYES. Upsets me very much. If the team is assembled like it is now. Its going to be hard to watch the team this year... very hard.

God I hate Pau more now than I ver did.

 

telling you what, words cannot express my anger and burning frustration right now. what a joke. we would have had THE best frontline in the nba, and coupled with a decent wing player we could get mid-season like JR Smith or Wilson Chandler, tore up the NBA. This also would have heavily weakened the Lakers who will be nothing more than 1st round fodder following the loss of 2 big men which was what made them so feared in the first place. gasol, as much as i hate him, is the 2nd best big man in the league after Dirk. And he can play Centre too! He would have impacted our team so much more than what Kevin Martin or Luis Scola can do. And Dirk cant even play C to save his life.

Kevin Martin + Luis Scola + fillers for the 2nd best PF/C in the association? ****MESIDEWAYS, IM DOWN FOR THAT ANYDAY OF THE WEEK PLUS 3 TIMES ON SATURDAYS.

We would have also freedup enough room to develop Patrick P and give Budinger a great run to prove his worth. Also the capspace we get from this, that we can use to chase Nene, is probably just as important as getting the 2nd best PF in the league itself. This guy is the most underrated C in the whole league.
