Sharpe was there in the draft and we took Christopher. Sharpe has worked on the long ball and is a fit with us. We don’t want to fill the role of a big, but it is so NEEDED.
YEAH we truly lack a true Big Coach. Coaching matters, not even steph and lebron were able to win anything with silas 20 losing seasons out of 21 season in nba? LOL
if mcgee and ayton played for silas last night they would look clueless and not nearly impactful as they were... and vice versa, sengun with cp3 and under monty coaching would have smashed us... flashnews for the scrub analysts! COACHING MATTERS
I agree that Silas is not a good x and o guy. I do think the new rules (that are being enforced incorrectly by the refs) is the nba’s way of trying to make traditional bigs relevant again. Sequn is the victim of the rookie’s have to earn respect for getting calls syndrome. He is very good at going straight up and has already had many foul calls that were illegitimate and he is getting mauled on the other end with no calls. Next year I think he will be much stronger in his upper torso and will get better calls. I think Wood is the outlier. I was against trading him, but with the way the NBA is rotating back to more posts and big bigs, i think if we can get a good package for him, we should take him.
So Green is too small to guard anyone? So that makes him a midget with little iq and a meh jumper that can jump into people and get blocked? Why all the hype then?
More knee jerk reactions as usual. Once he's bulked out a bit Sengun can definitely guard bigs, he has great defensive instincts and well above average at getting steals and deflections. Most of his limitations right now are athleticism related. Give him a couple years working out in NBA level facilities (yes, he's been a pro but it's not remotely the same in Europe as it is in the US) and I foresee many of these issues disappearing.
I am on topic. You have no problem ignoring all of Green’s shortcomings (get it?) because he’s young and it’s early. Same applies to Sengun who is even younger and has shown more. That’s the answer.
Honestly I think MDA convinced management lack of size was the future and they are still stuck in that mode.
I mean, do we really care? We are at the start of a rebuild. We can‘t have all the pieces ready yet and we basically want another high draft pick. I don‘t care if we lose almost all games this season. That being said, Sengun just turned 19. There is a good possibility, that he is still growing. And he already is close to 7ft. I am not sure if we actually need a 7ft center in the future the way he is progressing defensively if he can grow another inch or two. I would say our biggest need right now is a real pass first PG…
They are also really tall and all have trouble against tall players lol The league is small so they dominate.
