Good move for a player at his backup position. Probably only Hayes performed to expectation or better at their spot last year besides Yao and Head. Everyone else was injured or underwhelming (Rafer, Swift). Wouldnt get crazy trying to start Hayes for long stetches but he was a bright spot.

I hope some don't get their hopes up that this means one of the other PF will be moved now because of this. This is called CHEAP, QUALITY DEPTH.

Mr Hayes, time to work on that jump shot thi soffseason.

How many minutes would Chuck play if he could hit the open 12-15 footer at the same percentage as Juwon?

This mean drafting Shelden Williams is unlikely as we would have 4 PFs.......

I think Hayes could be an every day rotation player...especially if he improves his outside shot.

Outside of his offense he really needs to work on defensive position a little but with a little work it's had to imagine a guy who hustles and grabs rebounds like him cant find a spot in the rotation.

Who says he can't? And he is so much better on the glass and on defense.

Give him 25 mpg next season and he will give us 10 rpg. Give Stro the other 23 plus 10 behind Yao. Keep Juwan on the inactive list.

Juwan didn't even shoot 50% and all of his shots were basically FT line on down.

Throw your percentages at me, fact is, Chuck can't shoot as good as Juwan.

That's what I was thinking. Juwan shoots the ball as well as anyone from 12-15 feet and he rolls out open. When he's hitting that shot at a decent clip, we win. Do ya'll know the play I'm talking about?

Might as well repost this here, since it's relevant to the current discussion:

Here's a graph, comparing how they got their offense last season:

From the above, you can see the plays off which they took the shot, got fouled and took freethrows, or committed a turnover.

How effective were they at each of these play types? The numbers are below, measured in "points per play" (or PPP). I only listed the numbers for their most frequent plays. Note that this doesn't take into account passing or assists. The exception is PostUpD which specifically are post ups where the player is double teamed and he commits the turnover, or he passes it out to another player who takes the shot, gets fouled, or commits a turnover himself.

    Code:
[COLOR=Navy]	Trans SpotUp ISO Cut P&R OffReb PostUpD PostUp[/COLOR]
    Howard 1.25 0.92 0.71 1.19 1.03 0.81 0.93 0.79
    Swift 0.79 0.87 0.66 1.39 0.91 1.16 0.58 0.88
    Hayes 1.23 - - 1.13 1.43 1.05 - 1.22

All this info is from mysynergysports.com, btw.

fnally, a young hustle player with talent, and quite a nose for the ball!

i think this is cd's best move in awhile... let's see if we botch the draft and go with reddick...

we need more chuck hayes on this team.

    SAY YES TO MORRISON
