Yup and the Jazz are known to best one of the best roads in league for last 15 years or so. We played well tonight, gave them an excellent run for their money. D. Williams had an amazing game and hit a couple of cold blooded, extremely clutch shots at the end. You gotta give him credit. I can't wait until Tuesday March 24 when we're back in Utah.
We just need to avoid the 6th or 8th seed when playoffs start because Utah will win their division and get the 3rd seed. Utah is a horrible match-up for us at too many positions and its just too hard for Yao to guard Boozer in the post. We need to either win our division and avoid Utah in the first round or try to get the 4th seed and play Portland, New Orleans, Dallas, or Denver in the 5th seed. Please, no Utah in 2009!!!!!!
if we are healthy, we can. i'm still pissed b/c we should have beaten them last yr if yao was healthy. man i hate that team.
Jazz will not finish in top 4. They are on a streak now but that's about it. They lose about every road game so it's a wash always for them.
I don't necessarily agree we can't beat them. Tonight came down to a combination of underlying circumstances: 4th game in 5 nights on the road against a fresh, very good Utah team. We showed a lot of poise, perseverance and heart to battle back from 13-down to make it interesting in the 4th quarter.
you mean that the 93 team was one kenny smith shot from winning in game 7? the Seattle team that couldn't beat us in Houston? Let's not talk about the post championship uniforms. I still blame that. It's important to have home court advantage, I think this team is very good at home. Utah is always tough to win on the road. Only legendary Rocket teams have beaten Utah on the road to win a series.. can this team be legendary?
No I wasn't referring to that series, that was a heartbreaker, I am talking about the 94 post season where Rox won the rings, they didn't face Seattle (#1 seeed) in the playoffs that year because they got eliminated by Denver that year.
we can beat the jazzholes, i think chuck hayes coulda stopped boozer if he was playing, he always does good against him.
they just got boozer back. I have no idea why you think that they would start playing worse. The Rockets need to take every game seriously now. The race in the West is tight.
I expected that to happen tonight, but then we needed Yao to score, thats the problem. I think I rather have Yao guarding Okur and Hayes on Boozer. Boozer always goes off vs Yao.
From what they say ,he is not even 100% and they have like a 9 game winning streak, they will win the division
we played their B team, when we won and they still took it to us. Millsap does not have a 18 ft jumpshot while boozer does. for yao, millsap is easier to guard than boozer. And in last yr's playoffs it was deke who guarded boozer, which is why boozer did not go off on us. face it, boozer will always own yao. We can definitely beat them for a game but not in a 7-game series. dwill is too much for our guards and yao will get tired by banging with okur and guarding boozer. We definitely have to avoid them in the playoffs.
Good point, having Yao chasing Boozer at the top of the key and having him drive past Yao everytime will get Yao tired regardless if its 2 games in 4 nights. Yao will just have to rely on his teammates to guard the paint if he is to come out on Boozer or Okur.
no offense, but this "we need to avoid bad matchups like ________ in the playoffs" is a loser's mentality. (no wonder there're so many mcgrady's fans around here.) imagine we finally win it all, then some trolls from utah or even the media come up the crap like "houston won because they were fortunate not having the play _____ team". you wanna win? you've gotta be ready to beat anyone in your path.
they are a bad matchup. the best chance we have against them is if we have home court advantage. This Rocket team is not the Road Warriors of the past, no Maxwell going off for 30 points in the 2nd half or Clyde Drexler ripping John Stockton in game 7s. We need home court big time.
