In a shortened season, there's a greater likelihood that we fall in the lottery, I think. Things become more unpredictable and the Rockets tend to be slow starters. That would make the 2012 pick more valuable.
Quickness? Lateral quickness? He has in fact one of the slowest defensive slides I have ever seen. He is missing farrrrrrr more than effort.
So Terrence is playing SF right? This helps fill a void there only if Budinger gets replaced by him. He certainly isnt getting much time at SG unless they are moving Martin and or Battier soon. Which makes this trade make sense. I still think Morey is covering all bases for when he moves Battier or Kevin Martin in a trade. Thats the way this all makes complete sense to me. Because basically we are sacrificing Budinger or Courtney Lees playing time or we just waisted a first round pick for a guy going to the D league or bottom of the bench depth unless Morey has this intention to do a trade later.
True, but the 2012 pick we're giving up is reportedly lottery-protected. I'd be interested to know the conditions of it if we are indeed in the lottery.. 2013 unprotected maybe?
lol really? what about bud's college career led you to believe he could have been a dominant defender?
I was never impressed with JT, but he was okay for a third stringer. Now, who do you play at SG -- Kevin Martin, Courtney Lee or Terrence Williams? Williams is only 6-6 and is no Alex English -- so SF is not a good position for him where most SFs are 6-8 to 6-10. Please, Morey, quit improving positions where we have gluts of good players and concentrate on getting us tall, athletic players where we are weak, i.e. center and PG (nothing against Brooks and Lowry, but they are relative smurfs. I almost believe we would have been better off getting Vujacic from LA.
Not counting up & downs, he put up eye opening numbers the last two months of last season. He has potential to fill up the stat sheet night in night out.
This trade is obviously to help New Jersey land Melo to save the NY pick swap next year. You are giving up one pick to save another. You either keep one good pick or lose two. Terrance Williams is a wash from Jermaine Taylor. I assume that the Nets are very much in still in the running for Melo to sign an extension or else Morey wouldnt agree to the deal, and would rather have dealt with New York to trade the picks back.
Can someone tell morey the genius we need a franchise player not more role players, Im starting to feel like were going to be mediocre forever.
