On the flip side, he might be quicker to relax his ego if he knows he could easily be replaced by a rookie.

If anything, he'll be on his best behavior because he knows he actually has competition. Imagine him leaving in the middle of a game and rookie Ivey explodes for 30 in KPJ's absence.

Please stop it!! Stop with the foolishness. Ivey would be terribly redundant. There isn't enough basketball for Ivey, Green and KPJ. The Rockets are going to overthink themselves into a hole. Either pick whoever out of the bigs is left or trade up to get who you want.

Green-Ivey-KPJ would certainly be a load offensively in half court.

But in transition these 3 should run other teams off the court.

Imagine if this trio ran D'Antoni's 7 seconds or less offense.

    Scary.

The other 2 players need to have +7 wingspan, switchable 1-5, elite STOCKS and assassins from 3P.

That would be terrible, then we'd be forced to pick one of the best 3 players in the draft instead of getting a smaller less talented SG to throw on the pile of SG's the team already has.

Trying to think of who would have the most interest in KPJ. Wizards come to mind. Spurs come to mind.

I'm still sold on KPJ's story. I want him as a Rocket. The way he looks up to Dejounte Murray and might just be beginning to grow into himself. I think Tilman is truly trying to create a culture that will bring out the best in you as a player and a human. I'm on team KPJ and team Tilman until it looks like it was just a good idea that didn't pan out.

Or at least an efficient backcourt

If Stone takes Ivey it means he really has faith in a Sengun/Wood frontcourt to start next season. Sengun to be a facilitator and not get into foul trouble and Wood to actually be engaged on defense. Whether they both are still on the team after the trade deadline is another matter.

Stone would be a bonafide blockhead if he still has any faith in Christian. If Wood is still within H-Town city limits by the time training camp starts, Stone fcked up. We need to get rid of the selfish trouble makers.

I think it would be more of a stop-gap thing than anything else. By "faith" I mean he's comfortable rolling out that Wood/Sengun combination until a team gives him something enticing via trade. I hope that Wood will be gone before training camp starts too but if you take Ivey there's not a big prospect out there to be had at 17 that could slide into a starting role.

I think Wood’s value will just continue to get lower and lower as he approaches the end of his contract until we’re at the trade deadline and we’re getting the same ol’ “Rockets have 1st round pick offers lined up for Wood” just to realize that we actually don’t and he’s traded for whatever scraps can be conjured up 30 minutes before the deadline

I feel like his selfish presence just drags down the rest of the group…he’s not serious, and he only cares about himself…I’d rather he doesn’t spend any more time around the young guys

Maybe they take Ivey and hope that Mark Williams fall to 13 and trade Wood/17/filler to Charlotte? That would be a pretty good draft imo.

You could make the case that KPJ and Green will become the most dynamic backcourt in the league judging them after Wood went to the bench. I’m really doubtful on Chet and Paolo and I don’t see Ivey as a future star. I think Jabari will be the best, because of his defense, shot, and work ethic (which reportedly is epic). I also think he has the highest floor and is the best fit for the Rockets. I would at least try and trade #3 and 2023 Milwaukee pick and Tate to move up to #!. If that doesn’t work and Banchero is the one left I’d consider trading down if it would net Daniels and Murray or Eason, then take BPA or a project at 17. I Don’t know how you accomplish that. Banchero is only special with the ball in his hands. He needs a team that will be featuring him as their number one guy and you will have to live with his average or below defense. Ironically, I think Orlando is the perfect fit for him with SAC a close second.

I agree. KPJ > Ivey. Best spot up 3p% in the league, above average defender, and getting better at passing. Ivey may be faster in transition, but that is it.

Agreed he is being hyped on attributes he doesn’t seem to possess.
