I want Ivey at 4. Meaning we either trade away from the Big 3 and pickup an asset or we acquire #4 in addition to #3.

Lets say Orlando goes Paolo and OKC goes Smith or Holmgren. We take the leftover big at #3 and then deal #17,Wood and our 2023 pick with top 3 protection on it. We stay in the VW/Henderson race and likely give up a pick that will be top 7.

Only problem is compensation for Sac if it doesnt convey.

    Sengun/Garuba
    Holmgren/KMJ
    KPJ/Tate
    Green/JayG
    Ivey/Nix

I don't mind Ivey. I like him more than Banchero. But we need big more than guard.

KPJ could be great in that role. He had a knack for getting buckets down the stretch of games, too.

I think the "old guard" of insiders here at Clutch Fans including Dave himself dont seem to have the scoop as they once did during the Morey era. Stone seems to play things closer to the vest. Nix flashed plenty during the season and I can totally see Stone being happy with his current guard lineup (KPJ, Green, JC, Nix) moving forward. Putting out that Houston could be interested in Ivey is only trying to take advantage of some other teams bad GM.

TF are you talking about? Last I checked the Rockets were the worst team in the league and not close to the "best, deepest young core." That you Patrick?

I'd be surprised if we take Ivey and I'd be surprised if OKC seriously thought we might take Ivey. Even so, there's not that much we can do to mess with them except to take Ivey with #3. Otherwise, they just wait until the 4th pick is in to make the trade.

    It's a lesser Green-KPJ tandem

Banchero could easily be a Carmelo type of player (aka LOSER) while Ivey is a Wade type of player. Please do your due diligence, Rockets. Ivey/Green would be impossible to guard and Ivey is a much better playmaker than advertised.

Since Sac reportedly does not want Ivey, if this report is accurate, Mr Stone should be able to leverage this nicely.

Whomever they take at #3 will be an instant upgrade and starter. I’m cool with Paolo or Ivey.

It's obvious who sac wants if they trade up.

If you think Ivey has Ja Morant upside and that the bigs have a lower ceiling in your estimation, you go with the talent. Fit is whatever right now, IMO. They should tank for another year before worrying about fit and wins. They still need to acquire and develop talent.

If you watched the kings lottery night video, one of the FO guys said "this will be the last time we are here" meaning they want either a young star that can help them push to playoffs or play in or trade up and get Paolo Banchero(the so called most NBA ready) out of the top 3. And they 100% know rockets are not letting him fall to four. I am willing to bet sac is going to give up at least two unprotected picks for Paolo and I don't think Paolo is good enough to drag them out of the lottery.

That’s risky and has them taking someone they potentially don’t want at #2.
