I watched him play several games at the World Championship. He is an absolute athletic freak of nature.
Good to know the Rockets are actively building a "farm system" system that no other team effectively uses. Expect to see him on the Vipers and learning our system.
You are so off. He's a 6-6 shooting guard. So, pretty much ideal size there. He already plays for the NBL...
How often do we hear of an Int'l player on DM the GM's radar with the guy never finding his way into the Toy Shop?
I'm going to be honest with you. When I read that the Rockets are interested in "Tom Abercrombie," I was like this ->
http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=31762 This guy? Seriously? 7.3 MPG in one year at Washington State? No thanks!
He has good size and he is really athletic. If you lob it anywhere near the rim he will throw it down. I am sure that several NBA teams are interested in him.
Yea, look at how well the superstar James White turned out to be. If the Rox want to add another bench warmer, there are at least 5 better options at this point.
This guy has a completely different athletic ability than James White. White is a long and high jumper. His ability to jump like that is amazing of course. But other than that he is lacking in pretty much all athletic aspects. Abercrombie is an all around athletic freak. He is very explosive. I don't think he would be anything more than a backup shooting guard-small forward because he simply can't shoot the ball that well and he's not much of a ball handler. He can't really create his own shot either. But he is a complete all around athlete, a good rebounder, and a good defender. I would take him 10 times out of 10 over Jermaine Taylor. I am not advocating that the Rockets should get him. I am just saying that he is definitely someone worth looking at. And yes, he is better than James White. This guy plays defense and rebounds the ball. Again, I'm not saying he should be signed, I am just saying that he is indeed a good player.
