Gordon's not a bad perimeter defender but he's not in the elite class and you need a taller defender to guard Klay and KD.. Now, Sefolosha would be a good plan B.
The good thing about getting Ibaka is that he could hang out with Nene and they could talk to each other about a time when they were in their teens and the Ottoman Empire still existed.
makes sense. if we could make it work, cp3-harden-melo-ibaka-capela is a heck of a lineup. i'm sure we have some people in houston that can find out how old serge actually is. i mean even if you had 3 years, that still gives us time in our window we are aiming for. depends on how much $$$ serge wants.
Klay tends to be more of a spot up shooter....in GS offense, the only low post option is KD. That's why I think Gordon would be able to defend him on the wing but Sefolosha would be more than adequate to defend Klay, plus he can hit the 3. I doubt Iguodola will leave GS if the $$ isn't significant
When Morey breaks down the tax implications between Texas vs Toronto.....I think we have a good shot.
No, not at all.... no insider info here.... I have no sauces... lol... just drawing a logical inference on where enough room to sign Ibaka would have to come from - Ryan Anderson....
He would fit in well if we could keep Capela. Lob city version 2.0 ! Jk, seriously though, he could bring the defensive presence we desperately need. Just in... Morey is interested in everyone available
and he may be willing to possibly part with Ryan Anderson... whom Morey says is a highly coveted stretch 4 that teams need in this age of spacing... lol (no sauces... jus playin out the hypothetical senario - lol)
I know this is beating a dead horse.. but if only Anderson didn't disappear in the playoffs we wouldn't need to focus on getting rid of him for someone who could shoot more effectively at his position. Haha, I think at this point Morey would trade Anderson for a bag of chips. No one looks willing to trade for him until more major free agent are off the market. If the Knicks of all people don't want a contract like that.. who else is there?
based on reports... teams wanted two 1st rd picks to be willing to take Ryno's contract.... so i'd imagine DM has called every GM in the league trying to pass off Ryno as a good thing... lol.... Finally got rid of Brewers negative 7-8M or whatever contract last year... now we're trying to get out from under Ryno's 19-20M contract... lol....smh....
never thought i'd say this, but with Milsap looking like he's going elsewhere, with Blake off the table, With Gallo probably overpriced, and with Ibaka likely headed to TO, trading for Melo to play at the 4 spot is probably our best option. But sounds like we need a 3rd team to make it work because NY doesn't want any salary back. I sincerely wonder how realistic is is that we can move enough contract (basically move Anderson) to another team in order to clear the space we need for another big piece. I don't underestimate Morey, but this Anderson contract seems like it's really holding us back.
If Ibaka chooses to sign with Houston, can the Rockets send Ryan Anderson to the Raptors in a sign and trade?
I'm losing faith Millsap will come to Houston. I hope Ibaka would find interest in the Rockets. @J.R. recently noted that Harden and Ibaka hung out a few weeks ago. Would be a great catch on a cheaper tab than Millsap.
