One thing working in our favor is that no one wants to be in Toronto because of the team and city. He might consider taking less money to come to a better team and city for less money.
Spoiler: Answered above me That would mean Orlando had Ibaka to actually give up... they don't. He's a UFA by way of Toronto. I don't think Ariza is leaving. He's a bro, he calls Harden out. He's CP3's homey. He's a big time recruiter for us too. He focuses on defense and sometimes he catches fire from downtown and it's fantastic. I wish he could finish at the rim in traffic like ol' Chandler Parsons used to, but he plays a lot better defense than Parsons so I guess it's a good tradeoff. At this point I don't think Gordon is leaving either, and that's fantastic because Ego is a starter on every team not named Rockets or Warriors. We have him on a fantastic deal. Plus he gets to play freely, who wouldn't like that. If he worked on the system a bit more, he could really be the driver of the second team, playing the Harden role and netting 5-6 assists a game. It's only year 2 of this MDA+Harden combo and our team is growing. Just gained a hell of a lot of talent, what an exciting time to be a Rockets fan!
I didn't think Beverley was going anywhere either. If he's expendable for the betterment of the roster, than anybody at this point not named James Harden or Chris Paul should be expendable. It's only a matter of the right deal coming along to improve the roster and getting buy in from those two guys.
Rockets are interested in ibaka... if Toronto would be down with a SnT for Ryan Anderson... they laughed and hung up like NY.... i got a feeling there are many players DM is interested in - if the other team would take back Ryno's contract... lol
I think the tpe goes to whatever our need is after all the trades. If we lose eric gordon then i see us getting Reddick to somewhat soften the blow. If we lose ryan anderson then i see us getting ibaka with that money. As of right now we need to wait and see what or who Morey picks up to solidify this roster. I'D LOVE TO Get Ibaka. He'd be a great big man that can stretch the floor and play defence. He's also BiG and strong. If we get Ibaka that would definitely make Clint alot more expendable. Which could sweeten a deal. The kid is young but ibaka can also slide to pf to play with nene if we had to go against the spurs. It just adds versatility to pur roster which is something we need to go against a Warriors or Cavs team where they have versatility and players that can ALL shoot.
Ibaka and Capela would be a great rim protection duo. And he's basically a Ryan Anderson who can defend, so he makes a nice addition. Only thing is, to beat golden state you need three elite perimeter defenders. The rockets only have two, so while I'd take Serge, I'd rather have a guy like Iguodala.
What is the max amount we could offer to Ibaka/Iguodala/any free agent, by doing use of "our TE"? 12M for the first year? 14M? More?
We have three, Gordon, Paul and Ariza. Also, don't sleep on Troy Williams. Iguodala may want $10M+, I would rather go after Tabo Sefolosha at $5M - $6M
