    Lock if posted

The Rockets would love to get Jermaine O’Neal from the Heat, who might not be the same player he was in Indiana, but he still has some game, he can play center and has practically the same contract in terms of salary and expiration date as McGrady. That makes him far more appealing for Houston ... but Miami doesn’t get any thrill out of making a 1-for-1 deal like that. At least their expiring contract guy can offer something on the court. So the Heat likely would want a bargain guy like Kyle Lowry coming back.
    Delco Times

I dont know bout this I would rather keep Tmac if its gonna cost us Lowry.

Sixers beat writer reporting/speculating about Heat and Rockets for a suburban paper. Thread worthy.

Does Jermaine O'Neal's contract come off the books? I can't think of any other reason the Rockets would want him.

Is this legit? I mean if Yao comes back he is off the books but, so what? This trade would be pointless then. I'd hate to take away playing times from anyone on the team with how well they're playing

He's 6'11, blocks shots and would effectively cost us nothing?

You do realise that we're missing a big guy - getting one with some 'tread left on the tyres' who can also run the floor - and doing it WITHOUT losing a rotation player at all would be a major score.

O'Neal would also save us close to $700k in cash.

Not enough tread on the tyres IMO. It only makes sense if he can really get us deep into the playoffs, and that is doubtful. Why should we give up Lowry who is doing a solid job for us in order to please the Heat and weaken ourselves at the 1?
If Delco times is correct,we would giving up a big piece out of our rotation. Even without that,it's a short term gain at best without much gain.
