I never said he was... All I'm saying is, the Rockets would maybe be able to add him to a trade for a superstar. Considering his salary will be about $12 million in 2012, they won't have to completely gut their roster to match the salaries in a sign and trade for said superstar.
I always thought that T-Will in here was just "an asset"... If that is true it's somewhat sad, I think the guy has talent, but if I have to choose between Courtney Lee and T-Will I would keep Lee... Let's see what happens!
Morey will not trade T-Will without finding out what he can do on the court. If he does he won't do it for anyone but a star player.
You would be upset if we essentially traded a lottery protected pick in a weak draft class for Gerald Wallace?
I hope so... Still you have to give something to get something, and I wouldn't like to see T-Will or Lee out of this team, they are young, talented, and energetic! Maybe we will say goodbye to Shane or Bud? Can't wait to see what Morey will come out with...
I find it funny how we are even mentioned in a trade for a guy that Rick Adleman didn't even use or want to play who turned out to be a very good player now. Sounds very familiar. So lets trade away some of the young guys that don't get to play on our team and then trade back for them down the line when they had a chance and worth a lot more.
that's like saying, "would you be mad if we drafted Rudy gay and traded him to for Shane Battier". both are unfair comparisons.
The fact that this has reached 8 pages and is based simply on this: WojYahooNBA: Charlotte's active in talks to move Gerald Wallace and/or Stephen Jackson, league execs say. Houston, Portland, others w/ eye on Wallace. ...shows how much we're desperate for news of any sort leading up to the deadline and are more than willing to grab any blurb and run with it. I'm as guilty as anyone else. OK, maybe not anyone else, but guilty!
Why should Adelman have wanted him? Wallace plays defense, and plays it well. Defense and Rick Adelman have nothing to do with one another. NOTHING. Wallace was Terrence-William'ed back in the day. Once Adelman has his favorites, he sticks to them, unless his hand is forced (Aaron Brooks pouting / lack of concentration / recovering from injury).
If this is our lineup, who exactly did we give up? Looks like Brooks and Lee and Hill for Mayo, Thabeet, Wallace and Nene? I don't think the Nuggets and Bobcats do that deal. This seems like what you would like to happen as opposed to what could happen.
Another ex king. wow ! we need a center and money ball and rick adelman are driving this ship into the ground. He's not a play maker great numbers on a bad team.
I certainly wouldnt be upset over that Only question would be what else would be coming back in return along with wallace if Yao's contract is dealt. Diop? Tyrus Thomas? most likely a third team would have to be involved for it to work out the bobcats do not have enough players/contracts that would make this deal work unless it was like Yao and Williams for wallace and jackson but I dont think the Rockets would want that it would leave them with a huge logjam at the 2/3 spots and also I am not a fan of Jackson. The guy would give the team a needed bit of edge but he takes so many ill-advised shots and plays its frustrating
That's simply not true. He works with what he's got. Adelman’s trademark offenses have finished among the top five in the NBA in scoring on 12 occasions over his head coaching career. He has had three additional teams rank in the top-10 in points per game. His teams have also shown a great balance on the defensive end of the floor. When matched with pace of play, Adelman has had seven squads (four with Portland, one with Sacramento and two with Houston) finish in the top-five in scoring defense. In his second season with Houston, Adelman guided the 2008-09 Rockets to a 53-29 (.646) mark, which gave Houston a third consecutive 50-win season for the first time in club annals (52-30 in 2006-07 and 55-27 in 2007-08). Adelman became just the second head coach in team history to win at least 50 games in both of his first two full seasons with the Rockets. Houston averaged 98.4 points per game, which was the best offensive output for the Rockets since scoring 99.5 per contest back in 1999-2000. Adelman’s team also remained among the elite defensive squads in the NBA, finishing seventh in the league in points allowed per game (94.4). http://www.nba.com/coachfile/rick_adelman/
Wallace is the 4th best SF in the league, and the best defensive wing player in the nba, no Wallace won't get benched.
