I will not discuss this with you, because I know nothing about b-ball. I will let the pros prove my point.... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=201076 Apparently the Celtics want him, but it is probably because of his offense.... PeAcE
Very nice sir. Would be nice if we can get a good player wearing that number to replace the latest memories of who wore it.
That (in bold) is comical. I don't think they have enough - numbers to say what that does (detrimentally) the Bobcats.
It's hard not to start dreaming about the lottery and rebuilding. This season is starting to remind me a little of the season Van Gundy won that game that cost us Roy. I hate the idea of a full rebuild, though. Wallace is definitely more of a "reboot" piece than a rebuild, and good point about his age.
I agree with you there. There won't be a discussion. The tag lock down defender nonetheless belongs to those who are more physical and Shane is not the epitome for that. Well he's garnered respect around the league for some other qualities, especially from contending teams We appreciate what he brings to the table. If we can net an allstar reserve in Wallace for him in a package, well...great.
Wallace would be a good fit along with NeNe. Wallace and NeNe would fix a majority of our defensive woes. If Brooks, Bud, Hill and MIller were used in the trades then that would fix all our defensive problems. Wallace and NeNe can make up for Martin and Scola in the starting line up. Lee, T-Will, Ppat and Hayes can still provide a good combo of offense and defense off the bench. Though NeNe has injury problems, a bit risky.
Brooks' contract expires! So they are left with nothing to show for these two. Just as well, Brooks is hardly a 20 ppg scorer especially when paired with Augustin to make the SMALLEST BACKCOURT OF ALL TIME. Jackson and Wallace are both legit players in this league who have a definite value. And it's much more than this.
When Charlotte played Miami a cpl weeks ago, Wallace put up 25 points (EFG 55%/TS 60%), 10 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, 3 turnovers vs Lebrons 19 points (EFG 54%/TS 59%), 8 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 turnovers. Anyone who can match up on James and give you more points (on a better %) and rebounds is certainly no scrub. Wallace injured himself earlier in the year and it's only been the last few weeks that he's finally over it, which is why his fg% and number production on all fronts is way up.
The celtics want him to anchor the defense of the 2nd team, as a reserve for a quality SF playing 10-15 mins a game is about where Battier should be.
Do you realize Mayo is only 6'3 3/4" tall? He's not nearly big enough to play SF in the NBA. Heck, he's undersized for a SG. Personally, I'd much rather hang on to Lee since he's a more efficient scorer coming off the bench. Mayo isn't nearly as efficient as Lee and he needs the ball in his hands to put up numbers. I just think he'd have a hard time coming off the bench, that's all. Wallace would be a nice get, though. He's a solid defender, aggressive on offense, a pretty good rebounder, and has good size and athleticism. Plus, he's already played in Adelman's system so it wouldn't be too difficult to adjust to our offense.
I think that are assets were once overrated, and are now showing their lack of value. With the 14th pick in the 2011 draft.... The Rockets get.... Another Role Player......
I love it! Wallace gives us the defensive stance we've needed all year long and I believe that G.Wallace could go back to his 18/10 season he had last year which granted him his first all-star birth, also T-Will gets his minutes along with ppat and smith. I don't know about us landing Nene though
...huh? do you watch basketball? no disrespect to battier, they are two different players, but gerald wallace is hella athletic and is capable of putting more than corner threes up. what are you people smoking? 6 months ago gerald wallace was a PERFECT fit, granted that is with yao, but adding him to an already talented team would certainly benefit us (as long as we dont lose much in the trade). nothing really matters if we dont get a center though, we could get a 26 yo mj and it wouldnt make a diff, we have no size, we need it bad, but cmon you have to GUESS he is an upgrade?
hell if we managed to get a decent starting c id take SJ as well and i think wed actually be a damn good team.
Wallace is tempting (especially if it's a straight salary dump) but I think you have to say 'no thanks' in this instance for simple reason that it's hard to rebuild-and-reload with SOOO many big guaranteed contracts on the roster. Martin + Scola + Wallace is something like $30M per year. How much flexibility do we have after absorbing Wallace's contract to tackle the glaring need at center? The answer is: not much.
You still think the Rockets are interested in having a center on this team? We're revolutionizing the game!
