Three trades: #1 Hill, Battier, Bud for Nene http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=4aawzj7 #2 Lee, Jeffries for Mayo and Thabeet http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=47f2ffa #3 Yao and AB for Wallace and SJax http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=23r6836 Basically looks like this: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=62pw2je Lowry/Ish Martin/Sjax Wallace/Mayo/Twill Scola/Ppat Nene/Thabeet/Miller Someone call Morey!!
Cuban cares about championships today, not whose going to be good four years from now. And Nene is not going anywhere -- I don't know where this "he'll opt out" rumor got started.
Gerald Wallace is definitely a huge upgrade over Shane Battier. I am all for getting Wallace in a Rockets Uniform as long as we don't have to part with Kevin Martin or Patrick Patterson.
^This. I haven't seen the incentive for Nene to want to leave Denver. If he's happy there why would you trade for him? I think front offices and not just ours are grabbing at straws trying to find an available center somewhere.
Here you go. http://www.cbssports.com/nba/story/14584064/postups-nene-impatient-with-nuggets-focus-on-melo
IMO, from the outside looking in, the only Center available RIGHT NOW, is Kaman, but you never know, the fact that this MeloDrama is taking this long, I predict some rushed trades will be made and maybe some Center becomes available. PeAcE
From the "Random Post" department: When we did those "Potential Rocket Profiles" throughout the 2000's, I did a photoshop of Gerald Wallace in a Rockets uniform (in 2005). I never wrote the profile though because I didn't care for the 'chop that much.
You serious. When has Battier shut down someone recently? He plays intelligent D, prepares himself like a coach, gets the other part to shoot low percentages by getting into their faces but is by no means a lock down defender. He does not get into their heads. Too nice a guy. That kind of player would be a young RonRon.
Thanks, Deck. I'm kind of with you there. Wallace would certainly make the Rockets better and help get them back on a defensive track, and his age is in that core range... but that contract... well, just not what I really hoped for. The last week or so I've been more hoping to start relatively clean with youth and draft picks.
I feel the same way. The fact that he doesn't have a expiring contract(2 years) will make him attractive to DM. I'm not keen on acquiring him,but I could live with it.
Why not? They are a team going nowhere. Diop is out for the season, Thomas is out for another three weeks. They're starting Kwame freaking Brown at center! If they somehow do sneak into the playoffs they will just get smushed by either Boston or Miami. They have plenty of money problems. We help them rebuild by unloading their largest contracts while providing a 20ppg scorer on a cheap contract.
