I don't necessarily agree with McHale, but the dude likes shorter rotations so he can give players enough PT to get into a rhythm. He likes giving bench players 10-15 min rather than giving several guys 5-10 min. I think he is trying to get Cisco into his rhythm, since Papa has been struggling of late. Maybe he'll play Papa less from hereon. As of this point, he trusts Terry over Canaan and Daniels. We'll see how much more this slump lasts. I believe it begins and ends with Harden. Since teams don't need to double Harden with all that missing, the other guys are not having open looks.
Make this happen. Corey Brewer has the best posture in the game. Worth a first rounder. Great, great posture.
To me, this sounds like Minnesota "leaking" to Marc Stein to create the impression that their asset is in demand and there is competition in the bidding. Brewer is a useful player to have but I wonder about how his contract fits with the team's goal to add that "third star." It seems that Cavs are a more logical destination. They are not worried about cap flexibility and LeBron is probably a less patient GM than Morey is at this point so he's more willing to pay for Brewer.
Not sure why Morey wants to tinker with it at this point, we're off to our best start since Dream was playing here. Unless we are somehow getting Brewer for free.... The only reason I can see us in play here is because maybe Morey is thinking that the west is so deep this year we cannot afford to let one of our competitors pick this guy up.. such as Portland or Golden State, Clippers?
Would not give up anything for him. No idea why we're interested even if he waives his player option. He's not better than Ariza on offense or defense. He's in the same league as Garcia and K-Pap. Plus we have the backup 2 covered with Terry and Daniels. Would not like to lose the TPE, a second round pick, Capela, Johnson, Daniels, D-Mo or T-Jones to get him. Would be more than happy to send them Dorsey and Garcia. The guy is a horrible horrible offensive player, and old enough for us to know he won't get much better. He's a good defender but not better than Ariza and barely better than K-Pap. Where will he get minutes?
Yes we did, but this particular Brewer looks great at missing shots, whereas the other Brewer just looked bad missing the same shots.
Because tissue paper depth is going to eventually bite the Rockets in the ass, and it's quite possible that a 50+ WC team is going to miss the playoffs.
Exactly why Minnesota will shop the crap out of this guy, increase the bidding war. Its a sellers market with how deep the west is right now. Teams that are in the best financial/cap positions will have the best shot but how much should we really give up for this guy? Are we all in on winning this year or are we still a project? My feeling is that Morey sees us as still a project and we won't end up with Brewer but we will bid up the price tag for whoever gets him.
it would be neat to trade for him, then flip him to the clippers at the deadline for hawes, who hasn't played very well in LA. they need perimeter guys, and we need bigs
I don't think Morey's offering any more than a 2nd round pick. Well, maybe 2 picks. If Brewer waives his option and can be had for the TE and 2 2nds, I'd do that deal.
