Damn i forgot they had turiaf on their squad and dont even use him. He wouldn't be the prefect backup to Dwight but he can rebound and finish better than Dorsey/Black
That NOP pick is guaranteed to be in the lottery, basically. It's unprotected from picks 5 to 19, I think, so that pick has a ton of value. Jones is the best player in that trade and Morey's philosophy is that the winner of the trade is the one that got the best player and giving the Wolves the two best assets (1st round pick and Jones) is not a winning trade. If it was Thad Young + Brewer for TPE and Jones + filler, then I think we got something.
So when all the offseason insiders guaranteed we were getting Rubio, they really meant Brewer but were just saying Rubio for the LOLs. This actually verifies all of them.
ExACTly! You just weren't reading the tea leaves correctly. How many posts do I have in this thread, rimrocker? Two? Three?
That was my first thought too. Sure Brewer can help but I don't see Morey being ok with a 5mil + player option for him next season. Could put a monkey wrench in next offseason.
Will completely depend on whether Brewer will waive it. It is very likely that Brewer would get more than $5,000,000 next year on the open market. The cap is expected to increase, Brewer is a rotation player, still young, defends and can excell in transition.
Not every player has to be 3 and D guy god damnit. He shot 48% from the field last year. He has decent mid-range game (something very useful when 3 point shots are falling like this week), fast break ability (missing w/o Parsons), and good Defense. Best of all, he will take some scoring load off Harden and provide some bench depth. If all he takes is the TE, a 2nd rounder and Capella, I would do it. The only question is, do we still have enough assets to upgrade the PF and PG? Cause backup SG is only 3rd of our priorities. I still think we need a PG who can generate some play making. And we all know our revolving PF issues. Dmo / Jones are decent, but they will get murdered by the true bigs in the playoffs.
Wait a sec, his agent is Dan Fegan? That just changed my opinion from 'nah' to 'HELL NO.' Keep Dan Fegan players the hell away from this team. Next thing you know we'll be paying Martell Webster 5 million dollars.
If chandler can make 15 before the tv deal kicks in the. Brewer can make more than 5 mil next year. He will decline PO unless he gets injured
If there is any truth to this rumor, it would most likely mean the Rockets are at least having serious discussions about other trades and want to make sure they have a rotation wing on roster when dusts settles or that they may need a nice salary to match salaries in other trades at deadline that the trade exception won't work.
