I will continue to criticize as I see fit, you can continue to whine about it - in the meantime - on ignore you go. DD
Slow down @DaDakota We just got some Codman news. Let others read it as well and ask questions. Don't bury it with a half dozen posts of your own. You've already created about 1/3rd the posts in the thread over the last 12 hours ... anyhow. Take a breather on your running discussions with others for a bit, and let ppl read the Codman news.
Well a team that is currently "IMPLODING" is absolutely the Hawks because they decided to pick up Mr Bad Team Chemistry himself.
If you think about it, any team who may have been interested in DMo over the summer no doubt called the Pistons to find out why he failed their physical. Evidently they didn't like what they heard. Not a single team made an offer -- not one out of 30. That's remarkable for someone who showed a lot of potential just two seasons ago. Then finally the Nets step up, likely (as one poster pointed out) because they could take a free $9M flyer on him. They were so far under the cap that they would have to split that money up amongst the current players if they didn't bring in somebody else to spend it on. Nobody really wanted DMo, except maybe the Rockets because they've already invested a lot in him. Nobody else. Nada. It's not really a stretch to think that his best days are already behind him and he's just shooting for as much year-1 guaranteed money as he can get. Otherwise, he takes the QO, plays his ass off, and signs for $15-$20M next summer.
In other news,Phil Jackson is rumored to return to coaching, a Dish subject, but should be put out there.
This is incorrect, as a RFA, teams knew the Rockets would likely match, and guess what? They did. If DMo is back, D'Antoni will use him, he likes his passing.... DD
I legitimately criticize about low quality posters crapping on the team I love, whereas you whine and cry ad nauseam about imaginary slights towards scrub role players that has yet to affect good role players that we try to sign.
I think the Rockets have a great chemistry right now. DMo knows most of those guys. I think if DMo gets to practices and is WITH the team, he will settle in. I don't think he is going to sulk or be a malcontent. Now, can he crack the rotation? It will be tough. But it can be done. Just look at Harrell who is doing all he can to bust in.
Yup, teams didn't make offers to D-Mo because they thought the Rockets would match, they passed on him because they didn't want him. Players that teams legitimately want will get contract offers. They don't bum around for a quarter of the season and get a marginally better offer than the one that was on the table.
I doubt it would be tough honestly. Right now we don't have a backup PF, he'd slide easily into that role and Dekker would keep playing SF and take the rest of Brewer's minutes (Brewer who is averaging 2.7 points on 39.3 TS%, 1.1 rebound, and 1.1 assist in 13.1 minutes this month). Sounds pretty easy honestly and it won't affect any player that matters.
Wow....CODMAN liked my post! (insert mind blown gif) I have to be getting close to the Clutchfans Hall of Fame now. (insert it's happening gif) #blessedtobealiveandarocketsfan
The Rockets already tried to dump him once. If I'm a GM who actually wants DMo, I sign him to an offer sheet and hold Morey's feet to the fire. You have absolutely nothing to lose. I love the guy, but nobody else in the league wanted him enough to even poke the tires beyond asking Detroit why they returned the merchandise. He'll either play for the Rockets or not at all. Whether MDA uses him much depends on what he has to offer. Bottom line, though, is that if he were actually healthy, he would have taken the QO and made out like a bandit this summer. His decision not to do that speaks volumes about his lack of faith regarding his back.
Well, yeah, if Brewer is indeed moved, that absolutely opens up the backup 3 minutes for Dekker and then opens up the backup PF spot. We just don't know if Brewer will be moved or instead KJ/Ennis etc. Dekker is versatile, but actually like him more as a "quick small ball 4." Feels like we can exploit matchups more with that lineup in shorter bench minutes.
No doubt, that is what I think he should have done, but if he is DONE as some are saying than he got 3m more for this one year....which is not too shabby. DD
