It's fun, add some extra spice to normally bland early season games, and gets fans talking about NBA during football season. Might also get the Rox on TV more which is a great thing!
Why the HELL would fans want to see the players get MORE money. Oh, that just delights us! I can just hear the banter - Person A: Oh man, we crushed y'all!! And guess what each of my guys got an extra $500k !! BOOM!!! AH YEAH! My guys got more money than your guys. You suck! Person B: Yeah, So, Yeah, So!! My guys still got an extra $200k just for showing up. Your guys tried harder but my guys didn't have to try at all and got $200k for like 25 min of basketball. My team rules your team sucks. End Scene. This sport is becoming more and more dead to me. The fans get raped to watch these guys make millions and we are supposed to be excited. So fun watching other people make millions and millions of dollars and then get bonus' that equal years of pay for most fans for like 0 to 30 min of work. I'm all Capitalist but this is just BS.
More competition is a good thing, in season tournaments are taking a best practice from soccer and furthering the international appeal of the league. It would be great for the young guys to get that national TV exposure in Vegas.
How about the winners give the money back to fans who paid the exorbitant price of going to the games. Then you'll see people cheering them on.
