I was thinking about that earlier as well. On further thought, I agree. You shoot for the stars, clear all that cap, and end up with something like.... Spoiler Ha yikes! End up overpaying for 'junk'!
You do relize that if you are a center and you play the post you will get dunked on. Hakeem is the greates of all time and HE got dunked on, so what exactly is your point?
Imo, why not sign him? I mean, we're pretty much limited in our options of signing a big man so why not sign someone who is a proven rebounder, defender, and shot-blocker. Chuck is gone, Thabeet hasn't proven anything, and jordan hill is unpredictable (although I'm optimistic about his improvement considering how much praise he gets from McHale.) I personally want this team to make the playoffs this year. I think they deserve to make the playoffs considering the amount of hard-work and determination they gave last year. The hardest feeling is when you know you've given it all and come up short. If signing him turns out to be a bust, then the pro-tankers will be happy and we just have to look forward to the draft. If they do make the playoffs, then I'd be pumped as hell even if we do lose in the first round. At least Kevin McHale and the team's goal was achieved. Plus Morey will keep working hard for this team no matter what and that's what I admire from him the most. I think rockets fans should just have a little faith when it comes to this team and the organization no matter how bad things might seem. That's just my 2 cents.
Man, that potential Gasol trade and Nene signing looks better every single day that passes. Dalembert isn't going to solve any of our glaring weaknesses. I'd rather roll with Hill and Thabeet and just save the money instead of overpaying for "Option D" because we're seemingly desperate.
I think if you can sign Sammy D and keep Thabeet on the roster for depth than sign him up. The problem your looking at is if one Center rolls an ankle or sprains a knee then your Sh%& out of luck.
Well if Kwame Brown gets 7 million for one year. I am sure a lot of teams will offer Dalembert 15-20 million for 3 years
It was under 9 million. It's the overall money that matters. If teams are only offering 1 or 2 yrs it's going to take more for a player to commit.
I don't get why people are comparing signing Dalembert to trading for Gasol. I know some of the members here are not the brightest but do we have to clarify that acquiring Gasol would have cost the Rockets Scola, Martin and Dragic? We get to keep those guys if we sign Dalembert
there was a reason that the Kings chose Chuck over Dally... please for all that is holy do not overpay the man
Well coming from you, of course you would have to see why the Kings chose Chuck over Dally.....
