This team picture just proves it. Lin is the captain.

Well, to be fair there is a sizable segment of the population that is Chinese or of Chinese descent. In fact, this group is probably the richest and most well connected segment of the population. Combined with the fact that they probably identify with Lin more than native Filipinos, it makes sense that the Rockets would be coming into contact with Chinese-Filipino folks more frequently. It's not like the tweet claimed to be in Tagalog.

Nah, Filipino-Chinese in the philippines would speak hokkien, a dying chinese dialect... the interviewer is probably from taiwan or china, who went to the philippines to get some scoops in the preseason game...

Jeremy doesn't have a Louis because he's waiting to buy a knockoff in the Philippines.

funny, the tickets for the finals of the local collegiate league (UAAP) is more expensive than the Rockets-Pacers games ( sans scalpers)

Seriously. Harden, Parsons, and Casspi all step off the bus with the LV's and Lin comes out with a garbage bag to hold his stuff. Lol.

Wow, if you look at that photo, D-Mo is clearly the biggest guy on the team. What is noticable to me is that Greg Smith and Camby look very short, I would say 6'8.5 and 6'10 tops respectively. Casspi is taller than Greg, by a small margin but Marcus looks way shorter than Asik.

T-Jones is on the left of the team photo. There's a full version somewhere on this thread. But when they republished the photo in an article on NBA.com or somewhere, they cropped the sides, cutting out T-Jones and the other guy, artificially bringing the roster down from 17 to 15 so that Morey doesn't have to make cuts, lol.

You know when you're with a group of people, there's always "that guy." Looks like DMo is "that guy"....

A look at what the Rocket/Pacer game means to the locals from the Filipino perspective.
