I'm surprised that a poster of jayfree caliber, one with more likes to message would create such a shtty thread.

    Could be sarcasm, but still.

#1 pick when you are one of the best teams in the league isn't worth much. Rox can easily get more immediate improvements in the DLeague as we have seen in House.

Not using the mid level allowed the Rox to dodge the tax line which in turn prevented them from getting hit the repeater tax in year 4. I know every fan out there wants the team to go broke spending every year but the reality is you don't own the team and you don't pay for the expenses thats why it seems reasonable to you.

Majority of owners don't want to pay excessive taxes on a property they already spent billions to buy just for a miniscule improvement of their odds.

Rox are already extremely lucky Tillman isnt a spendthrift who let max talent go like OKC owners or a scumbag like Sarver who keeps selling all the team assets for cash. If you want even more commitment you need to buy your own team, chances you'll probably be more stingy than Tillman is right now.

Sure , now tell me how they get better next year when they are over the cap , have no pick in the draft , have One MLE and several key contributors are free agents … and the guy they traded that #1 pick for wont be extended / retained unless its at a significantly lower price , probably vet min money.
No trade chips (contracts) that you are willing to part with (aside from maybe EG) , no free agency aside from veterans minimums and that T-MLE.

Staying under the lux tax doesn't help any of that , it was in fact counter productive to that end , it just saved Tilman a few bucks.

How do we get better in the offseason , that's the question.

This was in response to all the people jumping ship. I don't get overly emotional especially after 20 games. It is what it is though.
