Nice picture of Stern with the HOFs and Smith (when the hell did Kenny Smith become a Hall of Famer??????)

Hairy Crabs... they are just crabs..... unless you guys eat the outside of the shell/legs then what difference do the hairs make??

    Have you tried that before??

The difference between the hairy crabs with ordinary ones is the yolk in there. Sooooooooooo delicious !! That's why a lot of Hong Kong people fly to Shanghai during the season (Oct ~ Dec) just for eating the hairy crabs there.

Those guys are the ones selected to the Atlanta Adidas Camp, representing the best from Asia in their age group. From left to right, Yang Ming, Wang Zhanyu, T-Mac, Yi Li and Gu Liye.

The much-hype Chen Jianghua, also on the Atlanta Adidas camp is not here because unlike the above kids, he was not signed by Adidas.

Maybe if you shaved the hairy crabs and marinated it in penicillin it will be easier to eat.

    Beat that.

OOPPSS !!! Forget about the hairy crabs !!

Yao Ming originally wanted to treat his team mates with main dishes of hairy crabs and snakes at dinner.

But he is a considerate guy. He thought his team mates maybe more used to "simpler" food. So instead, he asked his dad and mom to phone Peace Hotel from Houston on October 5, pre-booked and blocked out the dining hall and the open terrace of the Peace Hotel, booked the very famous old-man jazz band of the Peace Hotel, and fixed the menu.

So last night, he hosted a buffet-dinner for his team mates there at the Peace Hotel, right after David Stern's Party Secretary' meeting. Dishes like roast pig, slice duck meat, pineapple crystal shrimp, xiaolungpao, dumplings were served.

And after dinner, he took them onto the open terrace of the Peace Hotel that overlooks the magnificant night view of the Metro Shanghai from the Bund.

One thing about the hairy crab, the choestrol level in one is through the roof. But it is very good AND mega expensive. It's about $20 US per crab and they are small. (This depends on the season, i.e. good season, less expensive) Now, a man of Yao's now very deep pockets could certainly afford it.

And you will have to eat at least 3 or 4 if it was the main dish. It adds up quickly.

Personally, I'd rather have a good old surf and turf, and I'm chinese.

I guess Chen Jianghua was signed by Nike.

Well, he was selected as one of the 6 best players in the Asia Adidas Camp in Shanghai in May (?), but he did not make it to the Atlanta Adidas Camp in July, claimed that there was a mess-up with US visa probems.

But he was also selected into the Nike All Stars in the Nike Superstar camp in Beijing in June.

My bold guess that his skip of the Atlanta Adidas camp has to do with his Nike sponsorship instead of a lame excuse of US visa.

You know Nike is always quicker and more generous in signing up their stars, like Yi Jianlian, Liu Xiang, and others while they were just budding potential.

So I won't be surprised that Nike has already signed Chen Jianghua.
