I think it's a fatigue and psychological issue. We all know that Shaq roughed Yao up. And that takes its toll on anyone. Plus, Yao has some nagging injuries and he's not used to playing hurt and battered. Not like the USA game has done to him! So, he's sore, beat-up, and injured. He's got to learn how to play that way consistently. Next year wont be so bad since he'll have a full training camp. They WILL toughen him up and get him ready for the long grind!
I wish he wouldnt play in the All Star Game so he could get even more rested up. He'll get some rest though, should come back fresh after the break
Hey guys... Regarding Yao's recent shooting decline, can that be caused by Yao's working on improving his defense? I remember Mobley said that he lost his shooting touch early of the year because he was working on his defense.
Yeah that could be the reason. With a shooting touch as sweet as his though, its got to be natural so after a little bit of work and rest he should get it back. When he does....watch out!
Whatever the Rockets do well this year is all gravy. I don't think we can expect anything big but if we get it, let's celebrate. Next season is when the expectations kick in.
Darn, I just found out that the guy I am going with is also taking some Spurs business associate...so I can't get too funky. GRRRR DD
Hottest team...... I love this caption especially after we beat LA (Done), SA and Mav in a row. Can I recall this thread if we can do it. KH Reality Check?
No matter how crazy you get, it will NEVER be as much as the average Spurs fan . . . both the best (in terms of loyalty) and worst (in terms of homerness) fans in the NBA . . .
I recall reading recently that Yao said that he finds it harder to hit when he gets pushed around while he is setting up for his shots. Do ya think the strategy some of the more physical teams have used to keep him off-balance might have something to so with it? I personally believe it is a combination of weight training and being muscled around while he's setting up for his shots may be affecting his fg%.
