To all Rockets fans and especially you younger fans. He is a very interesting short web page that explains the history of our beloved (San Diego) Rockets came to be. Although it just give cliff notes I found it very interesting to read.

Also if you click the link to the left (Houston Rockets 1971/72-Present) you can learn interesting facts for every year of Houston Rockets History.

I did not know that Pat Riley played for us in the inaugural season, and I have been a fan since 1980.

Our team is enriched with history and I assure you that soon we will rise from mediocrity to prominence once again!

interesting- i thought the Braves became the KC Kings. Didn't McAdoo begin his career as a Buffalo Brave?

I had a memory lapse before and forgot the Rockets were in San Diego.

Man, they need to bring Calvin back to the booth with Worrell.

He's been a Rocket half his life!

McAdoo played when I was a toddler, so I'm not sure. I do know he
    played for the Braves.

Did you guys read where it said the Rockets lost Malone to the 76ers because they could not afford to pay the 13mil the 76ers offered him? Man that was a truck load of money back then. I wonder if that was the largest payday fire the time period?

I would love to have Calvin back. He and Bill had perfect chemistry. He was ten times better than Bull and Clyde.

The Cincinatti Royal franchise moved to Kansas City for a few years before moving on to Sacramento. Back then they had a "territorial" component to the draft and the great Oscar Robertson was the centerpiece for years before being acquired by the Bucks to pair with Alcindor/Jabbar.
