There's a difference between Detroit's version of "desperate" (oh god please someone, ANYONE sign with us) and Houston's version (we are on the cusp of a championship and are willing to overpay to get the final piece).
We can't clear enough salary for 4/96. That's a starting salary of $22.48 million. We can sign-and-trade for that much salary however. Or we can clear enough cap to offer Bosh a starting salary of roughly $19.9 million. That's essentially 4/85.
If Bosh signs here before LBJ and Melo decides, I wouldn't be surprised if Melo goes down to South Beach as well. But if LBJ leaves, I'm sure Wade bolts as well. Probably to Chicago.

I don't think he has to make the 22 each year. Maybe start at 19 or 20 and it'll just go up every year. Can anyone confirm?
LeBron has to realize how storybook it would be to return home. There is so much money to be made in marketing with that. -Blood in the Water in South Beach
