He didn't want to announce with Wade WITH him, I'm sure. I've felt he was going back to Cleveland for at least two months and I'm sticking to it. Too many signs before and definitely after he opted out. Read Woj's story from 2012. No way he would do Cleveland this way again. I realize he's done nothing and it's all media driven, but he'd have had his team shut it down by now. Only way I feel it's possible he's not a Cav would be due to Riley's persuasiveness. SO MANY would be done with him outside of Miami. Even Wade's "Life is good..." comment to reporters in Vegas leads you to believe if LeBron was staying in Miami, there'd be no need to hit reporters with "Life is good...". I read that as "Hey, he wants to go home, but I've got no complaints, he's got to do what's best for him, we had a good run, life is good." Just my thoughts.
ideally, we'd sign 3 players on what it would cost to pay bosh. strengthen our bench and remain cap flexible. then use parsons bird rights to resign him. essentially keeping the same starting 5 that won 54 games, and replacing lin/asik/omri/garcia with better players.
I've been seeing on Twitter (Larry Coon) that the Rockets were looking into S&T possibilities to get Bosh. Asik would be part of that deal.
I would rather have us do that... Sign 3 players for what we would have offered Bosh, solidify our bench better and then re-sign Parsons... Bosh would NOT equal those 3 players...
thomas is gonna get like 8 million, deng 10, and i don't even want to entertain okafor. i was thinking along the lines of pau/jordan hill, anthony morrow, resign troy daniels, vince carter, shawn marion. obviously not all, but some combination there could really bolster our bench, which was a huge problem last season. pau could even start, pushing jones to the bench where his energy and athleticism might be better suited. morrow might be a top 5 3pt shooter in the entire NBA. carter and marion obvious veteran presence. carter can still shoot the 3 ball and score, marion can defend well. jordan hill just provides a big body, which we need.
the scenario i propose basically keeps your starting 5 together. and replaces asik lin garcia and casspi with much better players, and keeps us flexible to maybe have morey fleece minnesota for love like he did OKC for harden.
I'm going to guess Deng gets 11-12 and Thomas gets 8-9 Thomas/Beverley/Canaan Harden/Daniels/Johnson Parsons/Garcia Deng/Jones/Covington Howard/Ajinca vs Beverley/Nelson/Canaan Harden/Daniels/Johnson Parsons/Garcia Bosh/Jones/Covington Howard/Ajinca Still rather have the Bosh team.
