Yeah, this was posted last night, but its pretty much old news. It's assumed that we have a standing deal with Philly to dump Lin. Also, that dude is a hack. Total Sheridan disciple
How is this news? Anybody with half a brain cell that has been closely following this crap knew LeBron was going back to Cleveland. Oh I guess it's news worthy now because BSPN and SAS said it today on SportsCenter huh? SMH
Well, somebody needs to tell Bosh that so he can sign in time for us to make. Decision on Parsons or his replacement
Vet minimum guys. Garcia, maybe Marion signs for a room exception deal, maybe Jameer Nelson would sign for room exception or vet minimum... Not a lot really. Despite what people think, veterans that can earn real dollars rarely sign on the cheap.
I think Daniels and Garcia. maybe nick Johnson. and some cheap bigs. or Aaron brooks at some exception level
On reddit someone mentioned an issue with Asik to the Pelicans and the timing of the trades. Essentially they can't trade straight up for him now without dumping additional salary in the form of Melvin Ely, who can't be dumped until the 13th. That means the timing would be impossible if the idea is to dump Asik to the Pelicans, Lin to the 76ers, + whoever else all in time to sign Bosh and match Parsons. Is this accurate? I trust Morey will make it work however (Asik is valuable, he can get rid of him somewhere) but I am curious if this is true. It's looking extremely likely that LeBron is gone to Cleveland, leaving Bosh open if we can get everything worked out mechanically.
I'm pretty sure Jones and DMo are gone if Rockets get Bosh. Canaan and Covington may or may not be gone. Rockets will need a lot of players. 76ers most likely get Jones and DMo to take Lin, but also send Rockets 2-5 of their 2nd round picks this season.
If the Heat are going to lose LeBron and Bosh, they will absolutely take a 4 team trade where we send them no salary, but give them some picks. And could even make it work where we send Asik to New Orleans, Lin, our 1st, and DMo to Philly, our 2015 2nd to Miami, and Miami gets the Pelicans pick and we get Bosh at his max salary and one of Withey or Ajinca from New Orleans. Let Parsons walk and retain the MLE and BAE, Terrance Jones and get a decent C backup on the cheap.
Let's hope that we can get Bosh, then match Parsons. And see if we can get some draft picks for Jones/DMo. Then after we deal with Bosh/Parsons, perhaps move some draft picks for bench help?

That was my initial thought as well. Then Bina tweeted matching Parsons would have little cap impact given what we know about Les' willingness to spend and Bosh signing here (hopefully). Also, if we can't sign a replacement or better, this offseason is a wash of we sign Bosh and lose Parsons' production. To me, Ariza is the only guy to make us forget about Parsons on the court. Better three ball and defense. Not as versatile, but Bosh would pick it up in that department.
Not true. The plan was probably always to move Austin Rivers as his salary is the main one needed to get Asik in their cap. Ely, Babbitt, and Withey are all un-guaranteed contracts that can be waived to make the additional cap space needed, but Austin Rivers is the main piece that needs to be moved first it seems. That way they dont have to lose prospects like Withey just to make cap space. They would only have to waive someone like Ely which they are probably going to do anyways.
