You only focused on one aspect of what I said. Flip does nothing else but score and, if you were to trade Wesley for him, he would be the starting SG by default. I'm sorry, I'd rather have Wesley who, is also undersized, but is a MUCH better SHOOTER and is an active defender. He just fits better on this roster. Why would you want a guy who needs the ball in his hands to be effective at all? We don't need anyone taking any shots away from TMac & Yao.

Now, if we were to trade a Mike Wilks for him so that he could be a spark off the bench for a playoff push, we're talking about something different. But, replacing Wesley with him in the starting lineup is just asking for trouble IMO.

I like the move and think CD did a very good job!!!!

The last few trades have actually make the rockets alot younger(hayes, Bogans and now Flitch) and plus this also add alot quickness into the lineups.

At least now the rockets are willing to look into younger players rather than so called veterans who are old like a dinosaurs. i think this is better direction to move towards!

Kind of puts it all in perspective, doesn't it? This reeks of a salary dump move. Nothing more, nothing less.

The exception for the Heat would have expired today. But we generated a new exception out of this deal that will expire in a year. Our exception and the Heat's exception are two totally different things. So we've got a $1.6 million dollar exception to go with the ~$3.8 million TE from the moochie trade.

I'm just glad we were able to get anything for DA at this point. We may have had opportunities to do some deals that might have made us better this year but yet wouldn't be good for us 18 months from now and I'm glad we didn't overreach.

Can they be combined and used to sign a free agent or trade for one player?

No, you cannot aggregate the TE with anything else, either other exceptions or player salaries. Basically each TE means that you can trade for a player or players that are less than or equal to the amount of the TE.

Don't worry about it, I doubt they'll be used at all. This move was done simply to get rid of a player that no longer wanted to be here, and Moochie was moved to get us under the lux tax threshold.

If we're supremely lucky, Les will use the larger one over the summer to bring in a bench player to replace one of our many departing/retiring FAs.

This trade makes our inactive list a lot younger. Probably the youngest in the league. Way to go CD and Gundy.

Can we use the larger TE to sign V Span since we have his rights?

we can sign him for a pack of cigarettes. He is the kind of girl friend you date that you can call 3 oclock in the morning and she will he in your room in 10 minutes.

It's a Trade Exception. Not a signing exception.
