    It's whatever.

A 8th seed playoff run will amuse me for awhile but missing the playoffs would give Morey another asset.

#14 + #15(16 or whatever the Knicks will have) + Martin/Lowry/Ppat/or Scola is a solid deal to move up. Add in two of those players and maybe you can move up even higher.

Yep. Three virtually tie. Sounds about right anyway you split the numbers. 1in 3 chance at best because there 3 of us. So 33 percent chance and the odds go up for the Suns because they hold the current lead and tie breaker. So sounds about right. I would not write the Rockets off yet because they do unexpected stuff all the time.

Tomorrow is arguably the biggest night of the season. If we win and the other 2 lose, we have a great chance. If it is opposite, it will be very tough

It's pretty unfortunate how 4 games could cost us so much. That's the west for ya.

The Rockets were in a stalemate with Phoenix, Utah and Denver.. all we had to do was win a few of those games; and we lost all of them. I'm really disappointed right now. It's just been a pathetic last 4 games. 95% chance to make playoffs went down to 30%. Just sad.

I think the stat line was actually IF we had won a certain game, we would have a 96% chance of going. It was against Utah or the Suns I believe. Our percentage before that game was obviously lower.

Hey, couldn't denver screw up down the stretch also?

They play the clips, phx, orlando, okc, minnesotta. They could easily lose 3 or 4.

Morey needs to do another prep talk tomorrow.

"Guys, if we lose tonight, our chances of making the playoffs are 8.93%."

So cruel. Poor Morey he thought he was helping with the 96% odds quote.

Apparently coach passed along the odds to the players(according to Lee) - win 3 of 5 66%, win 4 of 5, pretty much in. Lowry: "Feel like we need to win all 5 games left, personally."

If we win against Dallas and Utah loses one of their remaining games, we will make it to the playoffs. Write that down.

    Our remaining games...

    Twice vs NOH
    Vs GSW
    @MIA

We could easily go 4-1 if we beat dallas. Utah has to lose 1 of their remaining games so we could finish 1 win ahead of them.

Forget about phoenix, their remaining games are brutal.

If we can't beat tanking teams like NOH (twice) and at home vs GSW then we sure don't deserve to be in the playoffs.

Again, the game of our season will be tomorrow night against The Mavs in Dallas.

Denver might still be in the race.

They have Clippers, @Suns, OKC, Magic, @Minnesota left.

They could lose 3 out of 5 easy, but maybe even all 5.

New Orleans has won four in a row and 5/6 for those that haven't noticed. They are a very capable team with Eric Gordon back in the lineup. They're arguably in the same class as us, Utah, and Phoenix with a healthy roster so those games are not easy wins.

How is NOH tanking when they've won 4 in a row, with wins over the Jazz and the Grizzlies. They're pretty much locked in as the 2nd losing team in the league so intentionally losing won't move them anywhere. Winning games gives them moral victories and doesn't really their draft position.

Well one thing is for sure is that the Rockets do NOT control their playoff destiny. The Jazz don't either despite them having the seemingly easier schedule. The can easily lose tomorrow night against the Blazers on the road and even the Magic without Dwight Howard will be pretty formadable. That being said though they have a much louder homecourt than we do and they can run the table if they execute their game plan properly. IF they lose to the suns then I think its basically over for them even if they win the other 3 games. Rockets need to basically win 4 games and the one game that(they need to be perfect at this point though) they can most afford to lose is Miami while the suns need to lose two. The reason is that the Suns just play teams of the west and if the Rockets win the other 4 games while the suns do the same thing, we'd be tied in losses in conference record with the suns having played one more western game. Then the tie breaker would go to playoff teams in the west. The Rockets I believe have a good advantage in that department. That's the only way I can see us making it. IF we lose tomorrow night in Dallas while the Suns and Jazz win, then the chances of playoffs go to near zero.

I don't think its any worse or better than "magic number". Vegas betting wouldnt exist without forecasting and predictions.

Where I agree with you - The point of it all is still, when you're a 7th seed and lower YOU ARE NEVER in a COMFORTABLE position until you're IN.

Any team in the MARGINS of being IN or OUT in a close COMPETITIVE field within 2 games of each other doesnt have great odds

Maybe what Hollinger should ADD to that is showing what team is SUSCIPTIBLE to COLLAPSE.

Rockets fans who want the team to reach the playoffs do not have their heads in the sand. We ALL see the deficits this team has. There is no substitute for playoff intensity. These guys can all use a dose, including the ones who will be wearing other uniforms next year. I am depressed beyond he*l over the last four games. I hope we club Dallas Wed. night. Do not mail it in Rockets!

Why are you in such a rush to end their season? Trades and draft picks will come when it's time.
