He does fit on a slow down half court team....I think he could be post Deke insurance.

He no longer fits on an uptempo team like Memphis....they want to get out and go......and Jake can't do that.

This will probably be good for this kid actually. Can you imagine how much you will have to improve practicing against and with Deke and Yao Ming??

I don't know that he is going to help us really, just sit on the end of the bench in case of emergency. He's still young enough to improve with a good coach/trainer.

How awesome would have it been if we somehow got Nene. With the month hes having, he would a perfect center until Yao comes back.

Wow, I actually like this deal. No, it doesn't blow me out of the water but is a good, solid move for the TE.

No team is going to just give up a good player for the TE and the Rockets didn't need to find a good player right now, just someone who can help Deke out for a few more weeks.

Big Jake has averaged 4 rebounds and just under 1 block in only 16 minutes throughout his career. He is pretty effective in the limited minutes he gets.

If this TE expired on or after the trade deadline, the Rockets maybe could have gotten a little more for it but, under the circumstances, this is a real nice deal.

Remember guys, everyone dogged CD for his Wesley and Battier trades but (for the most part) you couldn't have asked for much more from those deals. Have a little more faith that CD just made another good move for the team.

 

It's not a bad move. If Deke were to go down with either injury or fatigue Jake could give us a few good minutes. He is not as bad as the Magic Lamp.
Padgett wasn't able to shoot the ball unfortunately.
